Hi Mikey,

I was participating in the NPD Predictions game on the NeoGAF based on personal intuition and no other factors.

If I had or expressed any sort of 'insider' knowledge for the Predictions game then it would be unfair to The NPD Group's clients who wait patiently to receive data on a certain day.

Is this necessary? Bish/Kev will vet him but dont post comments like this unless you have info. We dont have anything else to go on and i assume the rational GAFFER's are not taking these number as proof until we get the ok, but an indication for now.

It's a massive drop but Halo 5 was never going to do those numbers. Halo 4 and MCC really hurted the brand. At least 5 is quite good so they have a good foundation to continue working on. I really wonder the kind of leg the game will have, if any lol

I really hope the relatively low sales for Syndicate and the poor reception for Unity is making Ubisoft rethink their strategy for Assassin's Creed. Hopefully we won't see an AC game next year, so they can deliver a refined game in every aspect in 2017.

I think there is a greater lesson here about how sales devalue your product and hurt day one numbers.

If consumers know your product will be half off on Black Friday - which has been the case for Halo and Assassin's Creed every year - they're not going to put down $60 day one. They'll never make up the difference by selling it back used.

Halo numbers are a mess. Destiny really hurt them bad. Syndicate numbers are enough to change the entire franchise, too. Some really questionable decisions on where Ubisoft and Microsoft took these IPs.

We know the low end based on the fact that Minecraft was the previously week one best selling digital game for them with 1 million sales. At $20 a pop, that makes for $20,000,000 dollars in revenue. Divide that by $70(split the diff between regular and special editions) and you get 275,000 baseline for digital sales for Halo 5. And that is if "best-selling" is referring to revenue and not actual units, of which it would mean Halo 5 sold at least 1,000,000 copies digitally, globally.

This resulted in a spike in digital sales of Halo 5: Guardians, leading to it becoming the best-selling digital game ever in the Xbox Store for an opening week.

Oh and btw, the part you bolded (AI construct) was a reference to Halo - not malicious at all. They use the term "construct" a lot there, so that was a playful reference.

You guys should just take the numbers instead of all this thinking out loud about other members.

Those numbers are serious for AC, the franchise might not be sustainable on new gen. I wonder where they'll devote all those tesources. I guess they'll just get real located to whatever they have announced on deck is most successful.

Can't see PS4 selling over 1m in November at all. It's not gonna jump from an initial price-cut boosted 276k to 1m+.

It seems to me this Star Wars Battlefront hype that you all keep going on about hasn't materialized.

If it doesn't hit those heady heights, what we are witnessing is the slow but inexorable marginalization of the US as a videogame market when viewed worldwide.

Aqua and Cream were always being sly about numbers. dancing around them, giving hints and trying to hide stuff. Can't see how this guy would just come in and give exact numbers and stuff

This month has been a nightmare for all parties involved. Halo way down, PS4 with a price drop down YoY, ACreed stumbling massively. Damn!
