Even if they added a new character... I doubt it would be much different or less one dimensional than Kratos ever was, it would just be a different design with a different name, so I dont see why him being back is that much of a big deal.

IF this really has to do with GOW4, whoever decided that it was ok to steal art from this artist's website and publish it, probably costed him his career.

So if they receive a lawsuit, I'd have no sympathy whatsoever for them (the site that leaked it, not the artist).

Incidentally, since I see reuploading going on, I'd suggest not to do it. This is stolen art. You really don't want to have anything to do with that.

I think it wont be Kratos, it doesnt make sense. They just want to keep the asthethic of the new character (and possibly of new characters in future new mythos) to resamble him. After all, he is an iconic character and his design is pretty great honestly.

So, basically they will try to establish different Kratos for each new mythos from now on. Each with a new personality and his own motivations (but always violent and angry). Just my 2 cents though.

This is exactly what I wanted, and I don't mind Kratos so I can't fucking wait. Since this appears to be a new version of him, maybe they can address some of the issues that bother people so much. I'd say this is a pretty certain PS4K launch game next March.

This is what I was thinking, my guess is that it's a revenge tale set in Norse mythology with a character similar to Kratos but not the actual Kratos.

Concept art is amazing. But bringing Kratos back is a laughably bad decision. And shows that neither ssm or Sony have any confidence in the series without him.

You can't "mellow out" Kratos. He's brutally massacred hundreds of thousands of innocents, and in the case of the Poseidon princess, tortures them to death. It'll be impossible to feel any sort of connection with such a character after what he's done.

They should have re-imagined him in this new setting. Have the Norse gods betray a new protagonist and then have him go through killing all of them. But make him a somewhat like able character.

Instead, they slapped a bear on Kratos, gave him a couple axes, and called it a day.

Honestly who cares. It's kratos. He's about as generic as you can get as a character and I doubt any efforts to replace would be with some deeper character. You don't play these games for the story. You play for the accessible combat, intense violence and the spectacle of it all.

No one will be whining about playing Kratos as this game goes on to possibly sell millions. All it has to do it look good, show destruction and insane violence and people will eat it up.
