Didn´t know about that mechanic in WW, really cool.

This shows two moblins hitting each other (also, those godlike hitboxes back in 2003, goddamn):

If I'm remembering correctly, enemies of the exact same species wouldn't fight each other, but humanoid enemies of different species (Darknuts, Bokoblins, Moblins, etc.) would. I could be wrong, though, it's been years. I do still remember the one time that had me in stitches, when a Moblin swung at me and inadvertently hit a Darknut behind him of all things, making him fall to his death, with the Moblin not realizing a thing and continuing to fight me; it was something straight out of Laurel and Hardy. You might have noticed in that video Moblins aren't the most careful of fighters. :D

Man I can't wait to fight Darknuts in this game. My favorite enemy to fight in 3D Zelda games by far.

It's much quicker when jumping up, which in the end doesn't consume that much more stamina per distance. WIth a few stamina upgrades it should become a non-issue.

Still, of course, if they don't put a hookshot or grappling hook (hopefully both) in this game, I'm pretty sure that's grounds for court-martialing and no jury in the world would acquit them.

Jumping seemed to take off a good chunk in what I was watching. How you know there going to be stamina upgrades?

Sounds like NPCs will make some comments about the way you dress, too. Unless this is fake.

NPC, villager, and possibly Zelda and Ganon reactions are going to be fun lol.

Hahahaha this is amazing. Didn´t know at all about this interaction. We saw Bokoblins chasing Boars, so I think we can expect some level of interaction between enemies in this new Zelda (would be even cooler if regular NPC´s could interact with them).

Darknuts are also among my favourite Zelda enemies. I think they will go for something close to the Phantom as his design:

What else would you have? American?

No. European inspired fantasy should have european accents. There's nothing cliche about that, it's just good sense. Nothing is more jarring than hearing American accents where they don't belong.

Amusingly yes, historical English would sound closer to "American English" than modern RP British English (although neither is exactly what would have been heard in the Middle Ages if we're going for historical fantasy). Nobody does that though, because it would confuse most people who aren't aware of this.

As a related side note, Shakespeare's plays lose entire jokes and rhymes and are generally harder to understand due to the changes in English accents. Apparently Shakespearean English was both rhotic and had more Scottish vowels.

He hit a Bokoblin with an arrow, but since he was stealth the Bokoblin though it was th boar. It kills the boar while Jared focuses on the archer on the stand. Meanwhile, the now dead boar turns into steak, and the Bokoblin eats the steak and fills his HP bar back up.

Craziness!

I love these kinds of unexpected interactions between various gameplay systems. They're what I like most about games like Spelunky, and it seems like BotW is taking that concept and really running with it.

Not sure if that was done already, but I quickly stiched together a map of some of the peaks and their positions on the map from the Game Awards.
Yaaaas! I was waiting for a map like this after the Beyond the Plateau vid was posted.

The amount of varied locations is almost staggering and to think that we can go to all those fog covered areas T_T

Speaking of, has someone noticed that new enemy type spotted in the area that resembles the Grand Canyon?

It doesn't look like a Bokoblin at all and it kind of resembles a Lizalfos equipped with a spear. And I also greatly intrigued by that area that looks like a quarry and there is a Shrine at the bottom.

This game T_T

EDIT: Ugggh, I just noticed that armor is a Samurai armor so you can dress Link as a Knight or as a Samurai... THIS FUCKING GAME T_T

Where'd this come from? I really want this to be true. Towns instantly become more interesting.

Oh shit, Miiverse could even populate random text for npcs.

Like you could talk to a villager and they ask if you've heard any rumors, prompting Miiverse response. Other people then see villagers gossiping on what you've said.

What a lot of people don't realize is that Shakespeare is like 90% sex jokes.

Walk into a shop naked.

"No shirt, no shoes, no service"

Get kicked out of shop.

This game continues to amaze me. The enemies are basically doing what they supposed to do, like a living creature.

Ehhh, no thanks. Nothing takes me out of the experience like seeing the dumb shit that people post on Miiverse in-game.

Catcalling confirmed.

So has anyone managed to record some music from the game? I'd love to hear it.

He didn't hit the bokoblin with the arrow initially.

It started chasing the boar just cause.

I'm not sure it filled his HP bar back up, I think the HP bar might have just stopped showing because he didn't attack it for a while. Link

Yeah, I just can't get over how massive this map is, especially compared to the Game Awards reveal of the entire map.
It just looks absolutely insanely massive

I wished people would talk about the map from the Video Game Awards. Remember how it showed icons when Aonuma zoomed in and one of the icons clearly looked liked it represented a town or village?

Where is this at? It's probably still there.

Thanks guys, it reminds me of the good times we had dissecting the map. Some people thought that what was shown in the TGA video was something like 70% of the world map. Judging from this plateau footage, we know it's closer to 10%.

The map I marked out originally looks pretty accurate now!

The depth applied to stuff like cooking, physics and items (like dropping wood and flint to make a fire) makes my imagination go wild with the possibilties. Here are some of them.

- Towns and shopping. Bartering? Helping build towns with Magnesis? Something like you pick up a plank of wood, lie them across a scaffold then POOF it turns into a house, simple but satisfying.

- Side quests that require you to use stasis, magnesis etc. Possibilities are infinite.

- We've seen rafts, but what's stopping us getting a proper boat? Even building it? As above there's a lot of water to the east.

- People have already speculated about getting a loftwing or something. A thought I had today: what if we just add propellers to the paraglider? Or some kind of Beedle-esque pedal chopper? Why stop there? Fucken technomancy-powered car?

man, Skyward Sword had some really good themes

I know the game's divisive as fuck, but I liked it as much as it frustrated me. It's such a weird mix.

It's funny you say that because pretty much every Zelda game ever seems "divisive as fuck" in enthusiast gaming discussions despite how well received they are critically and publicly months after release.
Even OoT is starting to look a little divisive nowadays...

But Yeah, SS has some really good pieces.
I still listen to the Koloktos battle theme every once in a while, BoTW's eventful themes better melt my face off it's gonna be mute 95% of the time.

All I want is a cooking sidequest. I will forgive almost anything for something approaching Suikoden 2's. It doesn't need remotely similar mechanics -- just the chance to cook food for NPCs based on their personalities. And maybe a secret cooking society with a forbidden recipe.
