Final Fantasy 13 coming to current consoles?

On PS3, like UC2 and UC3, or RDR for 360, XIII-1 is solid enough on the console that a remaster is not all that necessary.

XIII-2 and LR would benefit a lot in the performance department, but i don't consider them worth much in general.

Good point - I guess I was thinking more of XIII, which I booted up on PS3 a few months ago and found visually still impressive. LR was definitely rough around the edges though.

Surprised this didn't happen alongside the PC ports. I'd probably buy a trilogy collection for $60.

I'm happy with this. I liked FFXIII and it was my first FF alongside VII which I had started a playthrough of a month before XIII came out.

I haven't played this game. I picked it up for PC but the xbox one controller doesn't work. I wish they fixed that before porting to more platforms.

Not sure if anybody already said this but there are mods to fix the Xbone controller issue with SE games, you know :/ Check on Steam.

Played the trilogy on PC (no issues despite a lot of posts in this thread) for the first time recently so I won't be picking it up again The games were alright, but felt like they got worse each sequel.

Let's say this is real: as someone who is looking to do some (partial) catching up on the final fantasy series, would this (perhaps at a lower price than €60?) be a good game to play, either on its own or as a reference point for the series?

I have played FFX, and I am planning on playing FFVII, FFXII, FF type-0 and FFXV in the near future. Would it be useful to add FFXIII to this list?

If the game didn't look like garbage on ps3 or run like total DOG shit on every console and computer I would've bought it. I just want a stable game that won't make my eyes bleed, but for companies like square I'm asking for the sun and moon.

I wanna have fun and join the 'lightning queen yaasss club' or agree with the salt posts here, don't deny me my choice TORIYAMA I HAVE RIGHTS

I assume you're talking about Lightning Returns.

FFXIII is gorgeous on PS3.

Square really trying to get easy money any way they can to offset those XV losses.

Square Enix has been profitable for a few years now.

Obviously "remastering" this shitty game for the sad bunch that actually liked it is an easy way for them to make additional profit.

And XV has not been super expensive by modern AAA budgets. I believe it was said under 80mil if I remember correctly.

Edit: There is 0 chance I would buy it personally but they could release Trilogy collection with dual voices for $60 and get some cash for it, IMO.

Edit 2: Although with XV releasing in 2 months or so, and XII early next year, when would this fit into a time slot?

Skip XIII, add VI and IX.

Your asking this place? Ha! If it catches your eye play it. You played type-0 which I thought wasn't better than xiii do give it a shot

HD towns?

Seriously though can Square please bury this game and leave it in the past
Lol, porting is cheap and if someone has a PS4 but not a PS3/PC/Xbox why not let just play the game? You don't have to buy it.

Hmm, I quite like type-0 from what I have played of it, so I might just give this a go, perhaps (depending on when it launches) at a lower price point.

I look forward to it.

I bought 2 versions of the game; NA version initially, but then the Asian version due to JP audio, since I couldn't bear hearing the English script.

That was literally my only issue with the game, the script/dialogue. It's so cliche and juvenile; SE thinks poorly of their audience if they assumed that stuff was appropriate.

Other than that, the game was great; music, battle system, lore, character/monster designs were all executed well.

I don't remember the number either. I do remember he said the game's budget is not as high as some people think and it's way lower than GTAV or Destiny.

If it's real and alone it'll honestly probably be $30-$40 dollars. But! If you wait maybe like 3-4 months you'll find a sale it's what I did with the ffx remaster

PC can't do it constantly because the framepacing is busted. They'd just have to fix that and 60fps would be smooth sailing, if it was possible to easily fix it for them, that is.

They never fixed the framepacing issues?!? Crazy!

In for LR. Only game I haven't played.
Since it seems like everyone is complaining I'll leave my five cents as well.

Only bad thing about the game was the voice direction, Hope and Lightning. Whoever was the coach/director for them should know that they did a bad job. People complaining about the story didn't read, people complaining about the music are deaf, people complaining about the game play mechanics are wrong.

Run like dog shit? It has small drops to 28 fps, its not perfect but its far from dog shit. Also it looked really good for when it came out. The game deserves some criticism, but definitely not in these two categories.

A drop to 28 from 60 is small? I love to know where you learned to count numbers. It's unstable as all hell, and locking it to 30 solved nothing for me because just cause it says 30 doesn't mean it feels/looks like 30. I tested it with two completely different computer set ups with results that equaled not playable for me.

I'd definitely buy a trilogy collection. Just to have it really. I wouldn't be able to resist getting all the trophies again though, so I kinda hope it'll share the PS3 list so I don't get dragged in, though I doubt it.

I really wanted to like this game but man.... The combat system... Just terrible. Worst FF combat system by an extremely long margin.

Spam A and occasionally press LB and spam A again.

I just don't think it can be a good idea to remaster and remind the world about FF13. Anyone purchasing it for the first time in excitement for FF15 would be immediately turned off. Hell, my memory of FF13 is the main reason I'm not hyped at all for FF15.

It's like Nintendo re-releasing Metroid Other M.
