Rumour: PS4 Slim leaked ?

Agree to disagree. I hope people realize that the main reason why 4K wasn't a massive deal last Holiday is because most UHD releases were delayed until 2016. I don't even think the Samsung UHD player was for sale at the time. If it was it was sold out a lot. There are going to be a ton of additional UHD movies coming out this fall to go along with the ones already released this year.

4K TV's are going to be the #1 ticket item this holiday, book it.

I'm hoping for amazing 4KTV deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday this year, that's when I'll be upgrading.

Been gone for a few hours and it's now confirmed real? I knew it was too ugly to be fake lol

My thoughts exactly. You'll remember when the slim PS3 was leaked and everyone was like that's one ugly mofo can't be real? LMAO good times.

I'll keep my non-slim but good on Sony for keeping the cost down.

I like it better than the Original PS4, that thing scratched way to easily, the glossy part. and overall ugly look. I like this better. But i'm waiting on NEO won't be buying this.

Which would you buy:
Slim for $280 CAD during Black Friday
Neo for $620 CAD in November

I don't think I could pass up on the Slim at that price.
Got the $400 from selling my OG PS4, plus $60 worth of Walmart Gift-Cards.

Gonna have to make up the difference after that D:

I wonder if the Neo is going to be some huge beast if this the extent of how much they can minimize the OG PS4.

Earlier in the thread people mentioned that on a Chinese forum where some of this apparently originated there was a poster talking about a larger PS4 unit that weighs around 10lbs. The standard PS4 is 6.1lbs.

My audio system is two years old and uses optical. Rocksmith, a game I play on PS4 (and that is still supported and sold on PS4) requires optical output to reduce lag.

Why remove optical from PS4 when it's been part of the system all along?

To reduce the size of the system, and to cut costs.

They obviously have usage statistics and have come to the conclusion that the removal of the port would be ideal for their bottom line.

That 10 pound weight is based on impression, the poster was just shocked on how heavy it is compared to his own PS4

I believe any game made before 1997 is "essentially cave man art."
I don't understand the deluge of posts saying "I'll wait till 4k is affordable". It's affordable now, dogs. Seriously, there are more 4k tv models being produced than 1080p, and the price you would have paid last year for a 1080p is now available in 4k for the same price and size.

Its 10:30pm OK a Sunday here in the UK. The guys probably gone to bed lol.

I'm in the UK too. I've been thinking about bed but this thread is too good.

It's weird that he's dropped off the radar after twitter convos with various games journos. I'm not convinced it's real until I see it lit up and running...

The goal of Sony isn't to make it much smaller. OG PS4 is already very compact. Their main goal with the Slim editions is to reduce manufacturing costs as much as possible

This post isn't by me, it's by a guy with the same username as me.
The Wii Mini doesn't even look that bad

The PS3 Super Slim is way uglier

Yeah, nothing will ever beat the PS3 super slim in "ugliness-per-inch".

It's so bad that some call it "The Ruffles Chips" model here in Brazil.

The cheap 4K TVs are rubbish, though. You still have to pay a reasonable sum for a good 4K TV.

Agreed. I just recently upgraded. A friend of mine is convinced Neo isn't coming out until next holiday, and that 4K media "doesn't matter" right now because not enough people are adopting 4k. They are though, it's happening, I know a handful of people now who have 4k sets and I'd say I didn't know any until this year. If you're in the market for a TV at all, a nice quality 4k set is easier to find, and around the same price as a 1080p set. I even splurged for a nice model with good HDR and it wasn't too bad at all.

Can you like me to a 51 inch name brand 4K TV for 650?
