I appreciate how confident you are in your total ignorance.

Wait, I'm sorry for upsetting you, but isn't this basically what you said last page? That pneumonia isn't contagious? What did I do wrong?

I always fuck up somehow. Please tell me how I did it wrong.

I've had 'walking pneumonia ' a couple of times (I'm on immunosuppressive drugs) and I was always told it was contagious.

I'm sorry.

Did you miss the statement from her doctor today when she said she's recovering nicely and probably just needs to rest?

What that got to do with my post? I didn't even mention Hillary. Just commenting on all the posts I saw saying pneumonia isn't a big deal. Bit weird you felt the need to jump on me.

Republicans would be stupid to go after Hillary on this. Then again, they haven't been exactly running the smartest operation.

It's one thing to go after Clinton when you've painted her as having some sort of serious and mysterious illness.

But pneumonia?

A vast a majority of adult Americans know what it's like to have pneumonia or the flu and still have to get up and fulfill their daily obligations. I would love to see the GOP try to argue that this is somehow disqualifying with the person running to be the first female president. Hillary could use the sympathy points.

Would the GOP really be that dumb?

Damn yall I fixed it. Jesus.

Last time I had Pneumonia I spent 48 hours in bed, coughing my lungs out while wishing for the sweet release of death. The fact Hillary is out campaigning with it confirms something I've suspected for a while now, Hillary is unstoppable and I'm a man baby.

did you miss the part where she collapsed?

pretending like you don't have a problem is just stupid and reckless and will probably cost her more than if she just said she was ill and took some days off.

MD's in this thread, but pneumonia comes in many forms, with many causes, with different prognosises. Hospital patients with severe underlying diseases like Cancer/AIDS, etc., then pneumonia is a big problem. Someone acquiring it from the community, with no relevant past medical history has a very different prognosis.

Also infectiousness is heavily dependent on cause, length of infection, medicines received, and a whole host of other factors. Can't speculate too much given the lack of information, but it sounds like the syncope was caused by the stress of fighting the infection versus an acute exacerbation of the disease itself.

Her stumbling footage is being replayed like fucking fuck all over the news over here in NYC
This was to be expected. Unfortunate but the diagnosis being made public alleviates immediate concern over her health and robs that video of much of its initial potency, disturbing as it is. Its shelf life has been shortened, I think.

In any case I'm calm now so *shrug*.

Apologies, but I think it's because most of the comments here are based on the situation unfolding with Hillary not so much as the various reasons as to why one could have pneumonia and the severity of it in those cases. It can be very nasty indeed and I'm not downplaying it. But this is a thread about Hillary Clinton after all and that's what most people would be inclined I would hope to think of it in the context of what we've recently learned from her doctor and how she assessed the severity of the pneumonia.

Are you really downplaying pneumonia?

As someone who had it, fuck off.

Someone is so ill with pneumonia they collapse, and they're taken to their daughter's apartment and not a hospital? Strange.

I wouldn't be surprised if they'd quietly arranged a house call. I also wouldn't be surprised if she had a medic on standby, given that they knew about the pneumonia.

Imagine how much worse for their campaign it would have been to have all those cameras trained on her entering a hospital?

I can't tell what anything is anymore.

I don't mean it in a bad way. Just that it can be very serious and it's not something to joke about. I still consider her very healthy, just in the same way I wouldn't say I was gravely ill if I had the flu. She's not terminal.

My guess? Trump or his fanboys will say the pneumonia diagnosis is an attempt to cover up her Parkinsons or Ebola or SuperAIDS or whatever

Why is she taking antibiotics for allergy induced pneumonia? Is there an infection or does she just have fluid in her lungs?

There's a source that suggests she's taking antibiotics? I just got back home and I have no idea what's really going on so can you post it?

I had pneumonia a couple years back, and I went too long before getting diagnosed. I was in my mid 20s and it knocked me on my ass. The final straw came when I was carrying some hay bales and nearly passed out.

That's when I finally went to the doctor and they almost didn't give me an x ray but fortunately we pushed for it or I would have walked out without a diagnosis.

Anyway I guess my point is I'm not surprised it caused her to faint. It put me out of commission for a few days as a 20 year old.

Hope she's ok

But I'm glad they are being forthcoming about it. I have no doubt that they will still use this to bully her but this dispels any notion of it being Muslim Moon Virus #12.

Yes, a million times yes. Absolutely and they will.
Trump's recent line has been that Hillary "doesn't have the mental or physical stamina" to lead.

They've already gone there, which only makes it worse when those statements can be brought back and re-examined in depth while that video plays on a loop.

It was my understanding (which might be wrong, apologies if so) that's pneumonia is an infection caused by other things. So if it was caused by allergies, you still have to take antibiotics for the infection.

I feel like a lot of attacks are going to be directed at why she kept her pneumonia a secret, especially since she is often seen as "untrustworthy".

I've always associated pneumonia with hospital stays and potentially fatal... guess it's a more complex thing than that then, I really should Google it.

Yeah we really don't need Trump getting any more of a chance to win. I still think he could and I think people are being far too complacent to think he absolutely can't.

To be honest, it would be nice. At least those attacks are based on something that actually happened.

Apparently she has mycoplasma, which is "walking pneumonia." It's like a more severe flu but without the projectile vomit. It's called walking because you can continue to function. Still, kind of impressive. I had it when I was 17. It knocks you out. I missed a week of school.

That's the contagious kind. Right?
