This feels waaaaaay too surreal. This whole NX thing has made me so skeptical now. I won't even believe it once Nintendo announces things officially
I'm totally freaking out cause it's finally happening!!!!!!

That's NOA time, my dude.

We rockin' full Kyoto for NX news, especially if the intent is to get info out before the Japan-only investors meeting. Japan will take priority over all the other timezones.

Yeah, in a sense that the Wii U straddled multiple markets - attempting to keep the Wii casuals with launch content like Nintendo U and wiimotes still being utilized - with an attempt to grab hardcore with the traditional controller layout and grab maybe some tablet users as well. Their marketing was confused and Nintendo's own teams failed to find a concept to really capitalize on the whole reason for using a tablet controller. Almost all the best games on Wii U don't really need the tablet at all in any substantive fashion. It's maps and inventory 85% of the time.

Similarly, a handheld hybrid concept tries to unify their handheld and console markets but will likely lose some of both in the exchange as I'm not sure Nintendo has grasped yet just how badly handheld markets are hemorrhaging around the world. They have this idea that you can take this thing with you and remove the controller parts and I guess it becomes sort of smartphone-esque, but they're going to have to find a way to overcome the biggest hurdle... why anyone is gonna drag that around with them vs. an actual smartphone everyone has.

I've been carefully watching the rumours as they've solidified and it really does seem this is the direction they're going. So if it is true, I'm most interested in how they intend to focus the marketing. Because this is the wrong type of device for modern markets without an extra hook on top of just being a hybrid device.

When we say tomorrow what timeframe are we talking here? It's morning in my timezone so are we taking 24+ hours or potentially tonight?

If Japan does it then it will be 24 hours from now. Give or take an hour. If it's America then it's around 8-10 am Eastern.

After all this time...finally.

I hope by some big luck we get a full direct with rpice and launch titles. If we have to wait for the full reveal please be next week at most.

Tomorrow, we should atleast see pictures of NX. OMG I am ready for the next great handheld!!

I realize this is kind of jumping the gun already, but if tomorrow we're just going to learn about the platform and not much else (which is easily the most likely scenario if info comes at all), then I hope more info about software comes out sooner rather than later. Ideally there will be a Direct going into more detail about the thing next week.
