What happened to console mockups/fake designs ?
I really enjoyed those.

I want to see one shaped like a scorpion, with removable joypads as pedipalps. And a USB connector in its barb.

Kind of like that Salvador Dali lobster phone, but in scorpion form. And without the telephone.

Weren't you saying that it would be jaguar just some days ago?

Wait, ME!? Saying Scorpio would run on Jaguar? Surely that's a mistake. You may have seen me say that it running on Jaguar would not prevent me from buying it, but I have said from the very beginning, and continue to say that I fully expect, and want, it to have Zen or a better optimized Excavator.

That also appears to be an entirely new shot of the SoC we've never seen before, unless I'm mistaken.

You can tell they're still building it. there's no CPU fan on it.

I'm kidding

Jez redeemed?

He has pretty much been redeemed. I think that's fair to say.

To be more precise, he has never, to my knowledge, given false information. More that he was accused of overhyping and supposedly having nothing. He definitely appeared to have something.

The thing is, they aren't. Ps4 pro is just an upgraded ps4. Like a slim revision, only for 4k. It is not changing any of Sony's plans moving forward. Ie, there will be a console gen reset when ps5 launched.

Scorpio is not solely an upgrade to Xbox one for 4k. It is being positioned as the future of ms's "generation less" consoles. Scorpio will play Xbox one games, but also the games that come out in the future, when Scorpios own succusor is revealed. This backwards and forwards comparable game plan needs a console that is designed for the present but also mindful of the future. For this reason, unlike the pro, I just don't see jaguar as being sufficient.

So you're saying in 4-5 years, when PS5 and Xbox Two come, you will be able to play Assassins Creed 7 on Xbox Two and Ps5, but also on Scorpio?

Interesting, I didn't know that was the case

You really can't hold anyone to that. They can change their mind at any time.

I've always believed this was the strategy Microsoft were going with, and it's smart. Damn smart. Let's really look at it like this. PS4 Pro can just about do anything Scorpio can, just at a lower resolution or whatever. Scorpio will be able to do more or less anything PS5 or Scorpio's successor can do, just at a lower resolution.

The thing is I think Microsoft will make Scorpio a good enough baseline where Scorpio is still plenty capable to hang with the kinds of games being made for the next consoles without holding its successor back too much. I don't feel Sony will want to do the same with PS4 Pro. They will move on altogether and I don't see any cross platform game sharing like what's happening now with PS4 -> PS4 Pro or will happen with Xbox One/Xbox One S -> Scorpio.

You really can't hold anyone to that. They can change their mind at any time.

I absolutely think you will be playing GTA 7 and Red Dead Redemption 3 on Scorpio as well PS5 and Scorpio's successor.

I'll tell you this: in terms of Finnish-made, time bending games with live action FMVs, it has few equals.

Not sure I like what you're saying here. Not enough praise.

It's one of the best action games ever made, and you will stand in the corner and think about what you've done until you are ready to say you're sorry and tell the truth.

I'm going to pick it up for Scorpio. I've just gotten back to Sunset Overdrive. That's such a great game.

Your trolling right?

QB best action game?

QB has yet to stack up against Max Payne 3 which is an old ass game now.

I love Quantum Break for what it could have been. It looked incredible, I loved the way objects moved around the environment using the powers, I actually quite enjoyed the acting/story, and heck I even liked the tv show.

Unfortunately, the combat was relatively one note. Played on the most difficult setting and it was still pretty easy, and there are only so many ways that situations can be approached with the limited time powers. I think the weakest thing about this game is that the encounters all felt very same-y and the powers were boring. They could have done so much more with the time element (ie, replay portions of sections, but being able to flank your previous run through and take out different enemies, being able to do rewind moments like in Remember Me, etc). With better powers and better battles, this game vastly improves.

I feel Quantum Break would have benefited if it was an episodic game. Release a chapter every 1st of the month and release an FMV episode every 15th, provide a reason for replay ability (add a scoring system to chapters or have a variety of ways a chapter can be beaten like Hitman). My previous paragraph with this delivery would make Quantum Break way better and more of a year-long event. It's a shame we aren't going to get a sequel.

Never understood the Jez hate. Dude writes for Windows central a website that has gotten leaks and scoops from.other parts of Microsoft right on many an occasion. It only made sense the sit would have contacts in the gaming department.

I'm having some fun with Matt, but Quantum Break is to me the best game Remedy has ever made. I know how it could be better, but it is hands down my favorite Remedy Experience with the original Max Payne behind it. And it's easily one of my all time favorite action games. I enjoyed the narrative, the characters, I even enjoyed the live TV aspect of it. The gameplay feels so god damn good also. You feel like such a badass as you're playing.

And who else got metal gear solid cyber ninja vibes from that shifters teasing? I was scared shitless about advancing at times, not knowing what would be there. What gave me comfort was "Dude, you're a fucking time manipulating badass. PRESS ON SON!"

Me, thursday, 9am.

His profession is a coincidence.

Or is it?

Yes it is.

If you really knew anything, you'd private message me to offer me a Project Scorpio console entirely free of charge.

goes to check pms

Games are a matter of taste. To discuss which ones are the best wada wada is subjective to the individual that has played it.
