In a fighting game graphics are the literally the last thing I think about.
It's about the gameplay first and foremost. Uncomplicated chaining and combos are important.
Then comes animation. I need to be able to know whether the enemy Ryu is doing about to do a Shoryuken or Hadoken or Tatsumaki.
Then comes hitboxes. This being Capcom and all, this is what I'm most concerned about.
And then come graphics. The characters could look like PS1-era characters with 100 polys each, I don't care as long as the first three points pass the check.
Fighting games, next to racing, are usually graphical showcases. As much as gameplay is important I need my characters to look cool as fuck. That's how you draw casuals in.

Oh fuck off Capcom. Cant even muster hype for gameplay with that cheesy saturday morning cartoon-like trailer and dlc bullshit. I'm gonna have to step away from this shit for a while.

CHUN li looks good

Compared to her SFV model? Absolutely not.

I actually didn't feel like the content of the trailer was that bad--I mean it wasn't great, but the part that really stuck out to me as being poor was the audio. The background music was super limp and Sigma-Ultron's lines were pretty weak on the delivery outside of him naming himself.

Why not use RE7 Chris?

Probably several reasons:

1. This game's art style is a colorful comic style, so realistic RE7 Chris would really look out of place.
2. RE5 Chris has visually become the most iconic version of Chris.
3. Pumped up Chris fits really well in with other pumped up super heroes in the game.

Hype hype! Does the Deluxe Edition come with those four statues? Also, why's it Chun Li as a statue instead of Ryu?

I mean I don't disagree with what you're saying here, but this game looks worse than the MVC game released 6 years ago.

That story trailer was awful.

I'm liking the new gameplay screens though as it looks more vibrant than the announcement footage but it's still not as colourful as MvC3. Hope they fix that.

The artstyle looks reallllly rough, but the story seems like it'll be the cheesy crazy nonsense crossover stuff I love, so I guess I'm down. Happy to see Strider confirmed early at least. Wish we got some gameplay, but I guess that's what E3 is for.

They also used DMC3 Dante in MVC3 instead of Uncle Dante.
In respect to outfit and moveset yeah, minus Drive being an odd hybrid between 3 and 4 (moved along the ground, yet was still a red wave). The model looked a bit closer to 4, minus the lack of stubble.

Nah MvC3 Dante was very decidedly the DMC4* version.

Dante in DMC4 was pretty manly. He got all kinds of gainz during that time jump.
