After his Andromeda thread I don't think I can take his impressions/reactions seriously. Would be great if the game could "dominate everything" though.

What happened with shinobi is one of the low points of this forum. Nothing to be proud of.
He was one of our most valuable members.
I'm not sure that's a particularly fair comment to make.
Just because his opinion didn't line up with yours for one particular thing doesn't instantly mean you'll never see eye to eye on anything else ever.
That Andromeda thread was not acceptable.

Hes a good guy who got a bad wrap for hyping up a game based on his limited exposure to it. Completely unfair given the prevalence of (horrible) opinions on this forum :/

Dude brought so much to this forum. Shin is an ME fan. He even made that very clear in his post I believe. Wish GAF would have handled that one differently.
Probably they want it well integrated with windows 10 and also their play anywhere initiative down the road.
Agreed that was a shame. He made great threads 99% of the time.
Currently this is no-buy for me, but I'm open to having my mind changed.
I need to see three things:
1. A clear and obvious indication that Bungie had learned lessons from the mistakes of the first game and took meaningful steps to go in a different direction while maintaining the core of what made the game feel great at times.
2. It should be apparent that the game is centered around the pleasure of shooting/using your abilities and meaningful feedback for investing time using those guns/abilities. It should be apparent that the foundation of the desire to play is that enjoyment and doing it with friends, NOT on a reliance of the player being in a state of permanent FOMO, with a compulsion to grind.
3. A clear and obvious indication that they are not taking the same weapon-balancing approach they did in Destiny 1. "Seasons" and other garbage approaches to this need to be jettisoned.

I mean, everything that defines your Destiny character is stored server side. I've played the same character across three different consoles (PS3/PS4/PS4 Pro) without any issues.
In terms of unlocking items on one platform that aren't available on another, it'd just be handled like DLC where everyone has the files baked into their client for compatibility, it just would be toggled on/off based on permissions.

Day One for me because I enjoyed Destiny 1 when the DLCs rounded it out. Buying on PC, truly my most anticipated game of the year.
Have you logged into your account on someone's PS4 that has the collector's edition frontier ghost shell and then logged back into your personal PS4? It shows the item, you just can't equip it.
Not exactly hard to implement on a PC/PS4 cross save. It's all stored on Bungie servers.

i buy it only if it have matchmaking for all activities,as a family father i have no time to find a group soemwhere for a raid or even a nightfall strike
If PS4 saves work on PC, PS4 exclusive items must carry over too then no? They won't be able to lock them out as it could be the only weapon/gear piece you have.
Anyway hope it's true.

Thinking about it, that'd be some next level bs marketing, " Like this cool looking gear? Well it can be yours too if you also buy Destiny 2 on PS4 and get it." Maybe a reason MS are against cross-save.

If the ghost narrator character got cut I would be so happy. His dialogue is seriously terrible and makes replaying missions less enjoyable.
That doesn't make sense. Each of those iPhones you listed sells incredibly well.
That is not the Pro. It's not happening man, no need to even put the idea out there. They're not going to split the player base even more and they're not going to give developers three separate versions of PS4 that they need to focus on.
Sony is never putting out another portable.

The "rumor" that was posted said that Destiny 2 is being optimized for PS4, PS4 Pro and the "next PS4." That implies a difference in power and they wouldn't be talking about having to optimize for a slim model.

Not a high bar tbh.
There arent platform specific saves. Everything is stored in player accounts on Bungies servers. And the game client will have everything in it, regardless if you paid for specific DLC, this is pretty much how MMOs work.

As a day one buyer and preorder...er, I have done nothing but talked shit about Destiny over the past 3 years. That being said, I'm cautiously optimistic and hope they deliver on what was promised the first time around.

This is why you buy the X1 version. The console has lfg built in,I have never waited more than a few seconds for a fire team.
On PS4 I have always had lots of trouble with third party lfg groups.

My hype has died down a bit since the announcement, but I've also had plenty to play on my Switch. Hoping they can knock my socks off because I wanna get back on the hype train! Wondering if they'll talk any potential PS4 Pro improvements
I know, it's why I said it won't just lock you out of the gear as it could be the only armor/weapon you have and I'm pretty sure you can't have a empty armour slot in Destiny 1.
I can see it just being PlayStation character exclusive, if true.
PS4 Destiny communites are all pretty much just LFGs. Would still prefer matchmaking for pretty much everything (assuming the strikes stay pretty much the same) except the Raids and Trials, as I can see quitting being a huge problem for them. Never understood why Nightfall and the horde mode didn't have it.

Yeah, but those are problems that are easily solved by having certain default items available. Also, maybe Sony is OK with enjoying your 'exclusive content', they did get your money after all.

True, but that could kinda screw you out of late game stuff if it doesn't keep the level.
Can definitely see Sony being fine with it as long as you need a PS4 to get them though.

The "next" PS4? Interesting... I suppose it wouldn't be out of the question for the next Playstation to release within the lifespan of Destiny 2. Not sure why people who just randomly played the game would be privvy to that information though. Color me skeptical of your source, but sure enough that this "could" happen.
