Plenty of games have 60fps options on Pro that are not available on base.

The Surge, for example, gives you the option of 2880x1620 at 30fps or 1080p at 60fps on Pro. Base PS4 is locked 30fps.

Not a multiplayer game so it does not count. The "Rule" exists to prevent Pro players having an advantage over a base player when they play vs each other. They are also not allowed to make game modes Pro only.

They literally just did it.

F*** off Bungie.

God fucking dammit, I need some PC info 😡.

Edit:

They're allowed to talk about PC version but not to show it.

No footage but better than nothing.

Pro players already have an advantage with increased resolution. So this doesn't make sense.

Dark Souls III also offers an unlocked frame rate mode on Pro that's not available on base PS4. That game is multiplayer as fuck.

This "rule" has been assumed because no dev has invested the time the fully optimize two performance targets for two hardware models. They could if they wanted to, however.

Trials are the best thing about Destiny as evidenced by the ridiculously larger Twitch community built around it.

The first time I went flawless post Taken King my squad had to beat a popular streamer to make it to the Lighthouse. I'll never forget that.

The raids are what pulled people into Destiny, they're what sets it apart and they're why I kept coming every expansion. I love trials I went flawless 30+ times in year 1, but it lost its appeal after having every single gun nerfed to the ground.

Was this posted before?

http://gearnuke.com/destiny-2-reportedly-run-60-fps-according-new-rumor/

– 60fps (from multiple first hand sources)
– PS4 and PC Cross-Save (not Cross-Play), and Microsoft is holding back the Cross Save for XBox
– Optimized for PS4 Pro, the next PS4, and Scorpio
– More exclusive PS4 content, again. Ugh.

No idea what this next PS4 stuff means....

Considering they took the info from someone in this very thread, yes, it was posted.

PS4 Pro pushed eh? I was really hoping to get this on Scorpio but I don't want to cope with delayed DLC or missions.

This is where I'm sitting at.

If the reason for a 30 fps (according to the leak) in a 60 fps multiplayer world is because Bungie is pushing heavy for image quality for D2, then I'm absolutely fine with it as long as the 30 fps is rock blippin solid on the Pro even during hectic matches of several supers going haywaire in PVP.

The 4K support is super nice as well. I dont want to feel delayed in content in Destiny 2, so the Pro is pure perfection for image quality, fps and first-get content.

Not yours. The original gaffer who posted those rumors

Ok thanks man. I should have clicked that link to the source, but i didn't. Ah well.

60fps would be great, but what is that about a new PS4? The rumors were a PS5 next year, so the game being optimized for that wouldn't be all that news worthy. Should be interesting to find out what is true here.

So is it unlikely that the PS4 Pro will be 60 FPS due to this rule as they wouldn't want original PS4 players having the disadvantage of playing at 30 FPS vs the Pro playing at 60. I think it maybe a PvE / PvP situation as they could use a number of ways to try and get 60 FPS across the board on PvP seeing the arenas being a lot smaller areas to play in than the PvE locations.

As previously said even if this rule is enforced will be interesting to see how MS deal with the Xb1 / Scorpio frame rate differences on games.

Destiny 1's launch literally doubled the amount of paid PS+ users overnight.

Yeah it was insane. I remember looking at the numbers of White D1 Destiny bundles that were being moved in real time and being pretty amazed by it.

Sony struck absolute gold inking that contract for Destiny marketing, and like I mentioned I think they're going to try and repeat that with the Pro and D2 this year.

This is good timing given that Mass Effect is on potentially permanent leave right now

Made me sad to think of no RPG's with multiple planet exploration, hopefully destiny adds more lore in the locations and interesting stuff to see as a SP game more like an RPG has

I cant think of any more RPG's with multiple planets to explore like Mass Effect

It would be a huge sales driver for the pro and honestly as long as the tick rate is the same across standard/Pro+Scorpio there wouldn't be a big advantage either way. That's like saying people who play at lower settings on PC are at a disadvantage, which I don't think is the case.

Just my 2 cents, but i do believe that this will run at 60 fps on everything but they are pushing Pro because it will run at "4K" on the Pro. Base will be 60 fps too but maybe sub 1080p. I also think that come release day of Destiny 2 a Slim Pro bundle at $299 will be very much a real thing. A gut shot to scorpio before its even out.

Good god i hope the D2 being on Blizzard net rumor turns out to be bullshit.

Going in cautiously optimistic the first game was a massive let down to me and my friends and i would love a good FPS MMO to play with them which makes me hope the PS4/PC cross-save turns out real because as much as i want to play with them on PS4 i would rather play on the system that has 60fps, the PC. I don't give a shit how pretty it looks.
