Shooters are boring and over hype unless they try something new like Bioshock 1

<_< not Bioshock 2 that was just a cash in

Bioshock 2 wasn't really a cash-in, just a boring sequel. They didn't do enough new things, but it definitely wasn't a cash-in, and to be fair, I'm sure people will say Bioshock isn't new when compared to the System Shock games. I'm not saying that though, because Bioshock is still one of my favorite games ever.

Setting and story and so many FPS dont cure about that side of thing and rare to see new settings other then Space and WWII or what other type of war happening

Hey guys, just wanted to come in and say my bit about the 3DS game I'm teasing.

I'm not talking about it on GN outside of the messageboards. I'm just talking with followers on Twitter.

With that said, it's not some secret ploy to drudge up traffic. That's why I'm just chatting on Twitter and not on the main site. I happened to randomly find out about this game just last night. I was genuinely excited and wanted to share.

I'm also not trying to hype things up beyond belief. It's a third party game for 3DS from a well known company. I also happen to be a big fan of the franchise. I believe a good amount of you guys are as well. It's a brand you guys all know.

I reached out to the company involved to see if I could do some sort of official tease on GN. If I am allowed to do that, I promise to come share the info here at the same time.

Finally, don't take all this talk as some sort of massive, hugely unexpected reveal. It's not a megaton by any means, but it is what I consider to be a notable title. Hope that makes things more clear.

Oh shit, Half Life 3(D).

But really, it's been way too silent around next IGA Metroidvania. I hope it comes back and isn't killed off in favor of these Lords of Shadows games. Like Team Silent got shafted.

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.

While I think this is true to an extent, I also don't think it's going to be quite so "all or nothing" for multiplatform performances. It took a solid 2 years for basically everything to stop "bombing" on PS3, and that was coming off the PS2 and only a year later than the lead machine it was getting ports from. I think multiplatform sales are pretty much guaranteed to be low for Wii U upfront, but I'd also expect publishers are going in knowing that and budgeting accordingly (ie: why Darksiders II gets no performance gains). Porting is comparably cheap, as long as Wii U versions make a return, publishers will continue investing in it.

What needs to really earn it's keep and drive the platform is 1st party games and 3rd party exclusive deals. That's what Nintendo's going to be counting on to drive userbase as fast as possible, and what will really ensure Wii U remains a viable destination for ports going forward.

Perhaps. Obviously, I'm more cynical about third parties' approach to the platform than you are, which hasn't been helped by indications that the system will be missing out on many more third-party titles than I'd have expected a year ago.

My aunt & uncle run a Mom & Pop store, "The Gamecube Hut", and sold 80k WiiU within minutes of opening.
That's promising. The Galaxy games have far less replay value than Mario 64 or Sunshine. I went back to play some Galaxy 2 and it was more an exercise in redundancy than anything. Playing Sunshine though still has so many possibilities. I can get to the goal any number of ways. Plus there's just so much to screw around with.

I agree that Sunshine is a joy to replay. I'm going to take this opportunity to repost my idea for a Sunshine sequel:

By the way, how about a Super Mario Summit? As a sequel to Sunshine, it could take place at a mountain resort. You could have levels based on ski slopes, hot springs, cliffs, a winter sports park, etc. with a quaint village as the center hub.

...and I guess you could bring back FLUD, only this time he freezes enemies and can create ice-slicks on metal surfaces. Also, this theme would allow Nintendo to demonstrate that mountain-range rendering feature from UE4.

That's...actually a pretty good idea. I usually dislike fans' ideas, even feeling downright embarrassed reading some of them. But I would really like to play that game.

These Wii U threads should just be renamed "Nintendo Speculation Threads of Hype" since 3DS stuff is being teased.

On another topic, those UE4 screens certainly didn't impress me as much as I thought. Those screens didn't scream "NEXT GEN!!!1!11!" to me but the Zelda demo did. This is probably due to the fact that Nintendo is seemingly skipping a generation of graphics from Wii to Wii U but, still, I could imagine UE4 running on the Wii U and me not being too disappointed at the downgrade.

Maybe the video will change things though lol

Yep we talked about them before http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=37609581&postcount=2158

I don't remember if anything was official though.
So it should help to consolidate this possibility by pointing something interesting found on linkedin, from the Director, Studio Technology at Junction Point Studios profile:
Been working in video games for nearly 25yrs. From the days of the ZX Spectrum right up to the upcoming Wii U. From coder right up to CTO.
