If they unveil that Yoshi game and it's anything but a stunning looking sequel to Yoshi's Island, there shall be blood in the streets.
A little off-topic, but I wish Nintendo had the Zelda tech demo up on the eShop.
I modified this to look more like what we'll most likely see.
Well in that case, the Monolith Soft reveal would be one of the many reveals / teasers at the Nintendo Direct, including Retro's new game, the new 3D Mario, more Super Smash Bros. 4 news, a Mario Kart Wii U announcement, etc.
Although it's also likely that the Nintendo Direct will be "enthusiast-focused" / barebones (Monolith Soft and Yoshi's Land) instead. You're right, it won't save the share price, but at least GAF / the fans will be happy.
I'll bet we'll get a Metal Gear Rising port. Especially since today's resident evil announcement.

Half this topic is people getting hyped and the other half is people trying to stop those people from getting hyped.
Listen, it probably wont be that amazing but we already have confirmation that they are going to reveal new Nintendo games.
There can be a middle ground you know.
It would be neat to mess around with that.
If only that Iwata gif could have the sound.....
That list of games. I hope you seriously aren't expecting something like that. It's almost entirely nonsensical. Also Yoshi's Island has consecutively sold millions in Japan, it's a very lucrative franchise.
I think the unveil of Wii Sports U and maybe a new EAD Tokyo game (Not Mairo 3D yet) seems practical and poignant enough for a direct.

I expect to see Game and Wario as a retail/digital release with a MSRP of $50.
So bullshit but you know it's coming.
I was being a little silly with that post. Those two announcements seem lovely to calm investor relations.

I'll bet you $5 and a pizza that we don't :-(
but it would be nice...
and then after the show nintendo will post screenshots of the monolith game on their site but there's only three of them and they're all like 500x375 and it's clearly unfinished
Investors will want third party exclusives like Bayonetta. I don't expect to see much Western exclusive support, which most likely is the kind of support their shareholders want the most. And personally, I would like that as well. Nintendo games seem to be targeting me less and less.
-I don't understand the worry about the presentation only being 30 minutes. That's half of what they devote at E3, and this is focused on one platform and only first party games.
I have so much faith in that list that was found.
If anything it would be a later port of Rising
A few things:
- It is really amazing how much goodwill Nintendo has squandered recently: they flat out say "we are announcing new Nintendo games for Wii U" and people still don't believe them!

Last time a Zelda demo got out into the wild an entire plot got leaked onto the internet. Nintendo probably wouldn't bother.
Anyone else gonna play some Nintendo games tonight? I'm gonna play me some NSMBU. Then XCOM.
I don't wanna check twitter again, but the phrasing seemed kinda vague. They've been telling bullshit since E3 and mishandling the console completely, so doubts aren't exactly inappropriate. The last WiiU Direct was pretty bad too, when their launch window crap finally lost its meaning.
.
I don't remember that, what Zelda was that?
Well, the last one was supposed to be a little bit of a joke, but we're definitely getting new stuff.
-Longest wait between a Nintendo Direct and broadcast in a long time (apart from...Pokemon)
-English tweets mention new games
-WW simultaneous
-Q3 results/investor's briefing this week, iirc.
-Facebook event
Something is coming.

Mr Iwata will reveal new games for #WiiU in a new #NintendoDirectEU at 2PM GMT on 23/01
Skyward Sword. The demo got onto the internet, people went through the files and then hey presto: the entire plot of the game was in there.

I didn't know that about the plot, but that's because I stayed away from those threadsSkyward Sword. The demo got onto the internet, people went through the files and then hey presto: the entire plot of the game was in there.
"Reveal new games" heavily implies that the games haven't been revealed yet. What a shock!
What kind of games haven't been revealed yet?

God I hope you're right. Nintendo really needs to get the good news train rolling for the Wii U.
Whatever Nintendo shows tomorrow, I think they have to show a game to get the hardcore excited. An amazing sequel to Yoshi's Island would do just that.
A Facebook event means something big is coming? It likely means Nintendo remembered they had a FB account.
