The Wonderful 101 love thread

Yeah, if there's some kind of contest, I'm willing to give a copy away as well. Even if it ends up here in GAF, I don't care, I want this title to succeed too.

I'd be down for something like that. Would just have to figure out how to go about it.

Probably saving the reveal for another video.

Yeah I feel you guys. I don't have a ton of time to dedicate to the cause due to med school, but if anyone wants to take charge, I'm definitely down to support. I can provide some prizes for contests if we can figure all that out. Whoever wants to get the ball rolling, let's do it!

Alright GAF; I'll buy it.

Shit, I have so many things to buy that I had to drop ACIV off my list. Hell, I may have to drop getting a PSVita, too, but besides Gravity Rush, I guess it would have been useless... well, KHIII streaming from a PS4 would be great. But, 'tis a luxury.

Didn't see this thread until now; adding my signature for great justice. This is one of my most anticipated games this year, along with Dragon's Crown and Starbound. And I don't even own a WiiU!

Where is the Iwata Asks: Kamiya ? I guess they will deliver it close to launch, but damn I want it now. Almost as much as the game xD

The reveal thread for this game was so depressing. So many people were saying: "THIS is Kamiya's game?!" as if it wasn't good enough.

Two questions:

1. I'm a little concerned this is going to control like Pikmin where you have to split up, micromanage, and command individual units or groups. Does it work like that or do all your heroes stay together as one and they just have various transformations?

2. This wouldn't happen to have off-TV play, would it? :(

Sorry if these were answered already in videos, I haven't seen most of them and won't be able to for a few days due to shit internet.

"Kamiya estimates 20 hours of gameplay for Wonderful 101, would be happy to see Bayonetta in Smash Bros."

20 hours is more than enough for me. It's perfect & I cannot freaking wait for this game, argh!

1. No, I believe you control all the heroes at once.

2. I believe it does, yes.

It is a straight-up action game and it controls like other action games. The only way the game is different from other action games is that you change weapons/stances/whatever you want to call it with the touchpad/right analog stick.

Great. That was the one thing that really put me off the game ever since I first saw it. Commanding many units simultaneously in real time just isn't fun to me. Off-TV play seals the deal.

Anyway, hopefully this game will be a big hit. I'm guessing with Nintendo's mountains of cash and desperate need for good software, Platinum's better off working with them than Sega.

I was already planning on getting this from seeing it at E3 2012 but the gifs and footage of the game now make me even more excited for this game than I have been. I kind of wanted to go on an info blackout but my hype levels are hitting a critical mass.

I'm simultaneously excited for this game and boggled as to why people don't bring it up more when talkin' bout new Nintendo IPs.

Because it's not a Nintendo IP?

Either way, game looks great. One of my driving reasons to purchase a Wii U. I just hope they start doing better bundles down the line.

I would like an IV of this directly into my Veins.

It makes me wish Nintendo would buy the Viewtiful Joe IP off Capcom (they're not going to do anything worthy with it) and have Platinum make sequels.

As much as I'm looking forward to this game, I do hope that the Wonderful 101 Direct gives us more reason for that hero army.

My understanding right now is that they increase your battery amount and increase your damage (if you put more heroes into a Unite Morph). That makes them seem a bit like coins in a Mario game. A power-up divided into smaller pieces that have little to no value individually. But that doesn't explain why they're characters that follow you around instead of being power-ups. The heroes could just materialize the weapons and objects without them.

Is the game better off being The Wonderful 101 rather than The Sensational Seven? That's what I'm curious about. "Is this Pikmin?" and "N64 graphics" would probably be less of an issue if they went that route, too, so hopefully there's a payoff.

I see some references to Wonder-Eyes Blue, Wonder-Eyes Green - but I thought they are saying "Wonder-ize" like pulverize. Anyone else have an opinion on this?

BTW, game looks amaze-balls.

To be perfectly honest, The Wonderful 101 won me over with that one trailer showing the 101 go down a slide together.

I got a wii-U for super cheap (
I wasn't even planning on buying one in the first place, but it was so cheap...
), so let me hop onto the hype train for that game. It looks awesome :)

Both this and Bayonetta 2 just look so absolutely flawless. Honestly look at these games!

Wii U will be unavoidable for action game fans, can't miss out on this hype!
