Destructoid "Call of Duty Ghosts performs smoothly on Xbox One"

Really all I'm getting out of any of this is neither console can run a game at 1080p. I sure hope this is just poor optimization.

i was thinking that too. I wonder if it's pressure from Sony. There's nothing to back up my thoughts, but it is inconsistent to have one with better resolution and one with a better frame rate (allegedly).

You are secrectly believe xbone version is smoother, which may verly likely not true.

I can't necessarily tell if a game is 720p or 1080p just by looking at it. In comparison perhaps, but I'm more liable to notice things like AA, textures, lighting, particle effects, and animation if all I have is what is in front of me. Same goes for 30/60fps. Some games I can tell, others not so much. Sometimes it doesn't really matter all that much if it isn't affecting the game. I'll definitely notice if the framerate drops though.

Same here on all accounts. Framerate will trump resolution any day for me.

1) The premise of the article is weak. He played one multiplayer match.
2) I do not take technical advice from people who can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p.
3) Anyone who says "solid 60 fps" and Call of Duty is, usually, a momo.
4) I FUCKIN' LOVE PUGS

That, thread derailers, is how you trash a crap article.

Next person to troll the OP with garbage will be banned until Xbox Two comes out.

Stopped reading thread at this point. Bringing dat reason.

GAF is almost bi-polar at times. I thought nobody trusted DF? :p

Personally,I have very little interest in this game, but somehow I get the feeling if he had said Xbox One version of COD performs at mid 30fps constantly, the reaction would be a LITTLE more accepting to his words. :)

Well much like every other site it depends on whether or not they are saying something that people want to hear. It's funny though all the drama a shit game like this is creating, but every weapon must be used in console warz!

What does he mean by smooth? In that video from the other day, it was anything but smooth. Everytime he turned he dropped frames and there was a ton of stuttering. Can't really trust this after seeing the video from the other day.

"None of the other guys broke the world record. Well, that makes us all losers, hehehe!"

That was the declaration of the last ranking contestant. Back to you, Jimmy!

They are usually pretty good in comparisons, but they did mess up the rgb output on the battlefield comparison. I expect they will have their shit together for the forth coming comparisons though.

Oh man the 22nd can't come soon enough if just to have definitive news one way or the other. Lately my faith in gaming journalism has been so seriously shaken that I don't even know who to trust anymore

wait wut? lulz

Well if this is true that would mean one version has stable framerate while the other has 1080p. If i were into cowadoody i would choose the version that ran better since it actually effects gameplay.

It would also be pretty hilarious considering the shitstorm over the X1 version being 720p. At the end of the day though the game looks like shit on both consoles and will likely run like shit on both as well. IW as in the real IW( you know the guys making Titanfall) are not making this game. The talent has left the building. I am not sure why anyone would use a shitty crossgen third party title to gauge the strength of any console's capabilities but that's just me i guess.

The argument really should have ended when people with Titans were reporting garbage performance. If it runs slightly better on a weaker system that just means IW fucked up, but people are using it as an indictment of PS4 somehow.

Agreed. Between the 720p on the XB1, the ridiculous dips on the PS4, and the straight up clown shoes framerate on the PC, it's pretty clear we need to look elsewhere to gauge console power.

Could give a fuck about resolution. Nice to see the frame-rate is apparently stable.

The Xbox One version has frame rate problems as well.

The entire game is a mess if it's struggling to run with a Titan while BF4 with a much larger scale, player count, and better graphics has no problems.

After all this, it turns out that Call of Duty: Ghosts is the Perfect Dark Zero of this console launch.

Shame it wasn't the Call of Duty 2.

do not tempt fate do not contrain Wonder Woman's thighs do not do not
I'd take framerate drops over pig-disgusting 720p.

Hurrumph!

Hahahaha no way.
You jokin son, no one likes a choppy framerate.
Sub 1080p is fine if the framerate is locked..........heck if the XO version is "confirmed" to have a more stable framerate thats the version ill be taking.

Well if that's the case it goes back to the original point i made a few times already in this thread and the other one about resolution. Maybe IW themselves are the problem as opposed to the consoles they are working on?

No maybes, they are the problem. If Titan can't run this with smooth framerates, I don't think anything else can.

This is Dice's time to shine, they brought it across the board with Battlefield 4 other than some server issues that will get ironed out. Ghosts is just a poorly developed pile of garbage across the board. Even if IW fixes the outstanding issues, it's still just a scaled back version of the previous titles with some pretty questionable design decisions.

Activision continues to run their best properties into the ground hoping that when the gravy train reaches the end of the track there will be another train waiting.

Battlefield 4 is a generation ahead of Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Forreal, from a technical standpoint, COD is a shoddy game. It should not be any indicator of how each console performs. It's certainly not an indicator of how my PC usually performs.
