From what I have seen in the shop around I have no doubt that sony sold every single model they were able to ship to mainland EU (and uk as well probably)....

I downloaded all codes that came with Black Flag today, no problems here. I did download them through the menu of the game if thats any help.
Warning, overly positive post incoming.
Got the thing since yesterday, felt really special as people in the shop were asking for the console and they were told they were all sold out. It was in a brown box but I packed it out in the shop. I said because the PS4 box has a handle so its easier to carry it home, but fuck that, I just wanted to walk through my city with a PS4.
Had no problem setting it up, had to wait until midnight before I could sign in PSN (as expected with console launches). Works like a charm.

Tried out everything except COD and Contrast. Could write pages about all games but Im too busy playing. Already played some games the past few weeks because we have a PS4 at the office (I write about games for some websites) so I already knew Resogun is awesome and Knack is meh, but still.
Biggest surprise? How much Im enjoying the stream/twitch option. Love to do it, already did it for hours now and will be doing it all day tomorrow. (twitch channel is http://www.twitch.tv/mozlapunk/ , but beware I talk in Dutch).
Ive always been a big Nintendo fan, enjoyed the hell out of playstation and ps2, but I have to say last gen I swayed to Xbox 360 more (although I always have all consoles, so I also had the PS3). But I can really see the PS4 becoming my main system. It just feels perfect, can't really describe it. Not a sony fanboy in any way but slowly turning into one I guess.
Of course there are things that could be better. Better twitch streaming quality and ability to save your streams for instance. Some niggles in the OS that need to be streamlined. Haven't tried out watching blu rays and its important to me (have a big collection).
But all in all, I'm very impressed and loving the experience. Took monday and tuesday off work. Monday Ill also have to go to the dentist and go look at a house (me and my gf are in the market to buy one), but other than that, I'm up for a further three games of gaming heaven.

Yeah i have been able to redeem the Aveline missions and some NFS codes.
I'm sure the content is up for PS+ members (free download). I have the game and haven't played it yet, but the content was free in the store. So I probably won't have to use the code now.
What you downloaded was the Aveline Figurehead for your ship. That comes free with Plus.

Kudos to amazon.de and DHL ...
Amazon for sending the PS4 package way too late on thursday evening (6:30 pm !), and DHL for having my package about half an hour away from me in their distribution center in Speyer since friday morning, and having no intensions of delivering it.
Add to that several calls to their service hotline, in which they lied in my face 2 times, stating it is in the delivery truck, and it should be with me in no time, but it never was.
Well ... it is still in the distribution center, and i get it "maybe on monday" because amazon sent the package as a normal delivery instead of a "express package" ... or so they say. Of course, i only pay for Prime, which makes every delivery an express delivery by default.
Yes, i am very pleased with the quality of DHL ... and yes, the service dude really asked me this. These d*ckheads have a console, that is my property because amazon already sucked the money from my account, and i have to hope for their goodwill for getting it.
Oh and i totally took a day off on friday, because you know, i expected a new tech gadget to play around with. Well worth the day of, who doesn't love waiting at home, doing nothing of the things that are planned for the day.

complain about DHL also with amazon ... I bet that if the reproach comes from Amazon to DHL it carries a different weight.
And Amazon is responsible for the carriers they choose. If they get enough complaints about 1 carrier in an area ... who knows .... they might change it.
That said .... it is just DHL being crap in this case.

Question about ps+. Yesterday i wanted to play Resogun so badly that i bought a code from the store on ps4 for ps+ for one month because i could not redeem the 1 year code i have. If i redeem that code before the month ends what will happen? Ps+ for 13 months including the one month i got yesterday? Thanks a lot.

Yeah, i already wrote two e-mail essays to Amazon, containing all the information i gathered. The answer to the first mail was: "We tried to contact DHL, but not one was answering."
So, it seems that DHL is playing the "pissed-off girl-/boyfriend"-scene with Amazon, but the rep told me that they got a large amount of complaints concering PS4, delivery and DHL.
And for chosing an different carrier ... DHL is the package-service from Deutsche Post, and they still have a pseudo-allmighty-status here in germany, the other carriers who are not linked to a former federal company are either too expensive or too bad. So they don't have that much choice.
Sucks yeah.
Btw.: For those who changed the HDD of the system, how long did the re-installation of the PS4 firmware take?

EDIT: Does anyone else have a problem of Netflix only playing 2.0 and having no options while playing the video of a 5.1 option, im using my Tritton 720+ and running DTS & Dolby been messing around. I don't know weather its a bug ore my PS4 isn't actually outputting 5.1

You should've complained to Amazon about DHL straight away (and I mean calling them -or let them call you, it' free- not e-mailing them), but I don't understand why didn't you go and pick it up yourself if it was just half an hour away from you, I mean since you took a day off and everything. Dunno how it works in Germany, but I guess you could also go to DHL distribution centre till 11:59 AM on Saturday morning?
Still, it sucks you won't get to play it on the week-end at all, definitely an awful service yeah.

I just got a call from GAME in slough telling me my phase 2 preorder came in already! But I picked up my phase 1 killzone bundle on Friday, so I don't need it. I told them I'll pick it up tomorrow so they hold it for me.

I do mate but my brother cancelled his order when GT6 was announced, and then played Resogun yesterday and was really really pissed at himself lol. I made a post about it on here somewhere yesterday. He fucking loved RP too.
I managed to order the Killzone bundle with Need for Speed, Fifa and Battlefield this morning from the Game website. I was refreshing the page constantly so I think I've earned this, but I still keep expecting the order to fall through after similar let downs over the last few days. Please dispatch it :'(

Also, this may be a silly question, but can you stand the console vertically without the stand? I won't be able to pick one up until after the console arrives and there's nowhere to sit it horizontally.
You can, but you shouldn't. You'll block the vents.
The vertical stand is designed with slots in it to still allow heat to escape.

I've looked everywhere, and it's entirely sold out. You can get one on Marktplaats but that would cost you around 650.
My advice is to put up a pre order on coolblue as they still guarantee for the second batch.

I've been left with not much choice thanks to shopto sending me the wrong item. I've no space to put it anywhere else, thanks to how massive the Xbox One is and the fact they put vents on the top meaning I can't just put it on top.
It doesn't actually block the vents because the vents are in the little jut inwards, it just means there isn't quite as much space for air circulation. I doubt it would do damage in the short term really, but if you wanted to keep your console going for as long as possible you want the stand.

My PS4 is fine, but my partners keep adding a padlock to the games and saying the license is invalid. This is happening even with disc based games. The only solution so far is for her to switch off the console and reboot in the hope that it fixes it, which it does, but then later happens again. She has tried the 'verify license' option, and that worked fine, but it is still happening.
Any ideas Gaf?

Same in Italy. I went in 5 different store the morning of launch & I haven't found a single ps4 available, all pre ordered. So I have to pre order it too, will be two long weeks.
