So when are we getting the last part of this interview? Saturday or Sunday?
I know some people apparently hate these, but I love reading them.

Looking at the most recent calculations, it occurs to me that the raw power difference between PS4 and XB1 is just about the same as the raw power difference between XB1 and WiiU.
That can't be right, can it?
people forget those types of things far too easily...
I'll host it properly for you ..Damn, trying to catch up on this thread and that is insane to look at.
Pardon the poor gif, new to the game.
I'll host it properly for you ..
You did see the end of that movie, right?

Next gen assets are going to take up considerably more space than current gen assets. The higher resolution the textures, the more space they take up. A good example of this is Max Payne 3. On the consoles the game takes up about 14.5GB, but on PC it takes up 30.5GB of data. That is entirely due to texture size and 1080p video. People may think that 50GB is a ton for a game, but don't be surprised if games come out that fill up a 50GB disc and require a download for higher resolution textures.Yeah but that's with, what, 15 fully voice-acted languages, ultra-hight bitrates 1080p cutscenes, extras and the likes.
Strip the game down to the core, only the assets, and how much it'll weight, 20GB? If I remember correctly, Uncharted 3 was only 20GB of raw data. I don't remember if that's with multi language audio included or not (probably included).
They should install only the game's assets, with only the selected language, and let the cutscene's stream from the disk.
If they will do this, 500GB will last way longer.
Unless you go full digital.
Okay, so I just read through some of the comments on misterxmedia, because I'm insane! But now I want to know who this fuckers is...
the sonygaf is a fucking joke

Yesterday after 5 posts xbounity on neogaf bish did a search on me because I wasnt agreeing with the assertion that the 10 percent wont be avail to devs based on the article and goossen comments. I was banned for the reason of being a grassroot viral marketer for msft. Lol needless to say im complimented. My wife and most of systemwars had a good laugh. Talk about insecurity by sonygaf. Day by day the truth comes out. It is losing cred real fast. Bish is one insecure mental case mod. So delicious. Seems like the lack of games graphical prowess for the ps4 is getting to the sony dicksucking
He's a busy man so let me answer that for you. With the infinite power of the cloud engineered by the people who INVENTED DIRECTX! will nullify the 50% in performance gap which in itself amounts to almost nothing in real world application anyway; however, we have a 6% boost in GPU power which is very important and ideal, just wait till you see them in action...oh man so beautiful...like a bear eating salmon while balancing on a wooden beam. In reality, according to our technical fellows, you will see at launch that there will be no performance difference, but that 6% will make a difference. Just wait and see. Patience is a virtue.
Doesn't he say who he is? Its XBOunity!
Remember Bish did a search on XBOunity earlier in this thread and found a post from him on another website. He got banned for it I believe.
Hahaha

I really want Sony to release the specs for the PS4 HDD. I would rather have a 1TB drive ready for launch than have to replace it in a month and have to download everything again. If they are using 7200rpm drives, an upgrade will be out of the question though until 1TB 7200rpm 2.5" drives are more common.
If games are really going to be that large, then plans for all digital will have to be put on hold. Some of us have data caps
Isn't Xbox One's HDD non-replacable?
I hope they let us install on External HDDs.
I believe Microsoft already confirmed that they're planning to allow that in the future, but it won't be available at launch.Isn't Xbox One's HDD non-replacable?

Wait WHATT?!?! XBOunity was Misterxmedia confirmed?!?!? That's easily the best thing to come out of this thread. I wish I could have asked for his autograph in his extremely brief yet entertaining stay here. It's not often you get to meet someone so proud of their own delusions and aggressive stupidity.
I never thought XBOunity was confirmed to be Misterx
Just that it was clear his agenda based on Bish's research?
Oh... man.... you got me so hyped up for nothing. Now I understand what those hopeful Last Guardian fans feel like to teeter on the edge of euphoria and then get ripped back down to the depths of reality ):
from the other thead, prob relevant here too:
pretty big margins imo, but I still believe multiplats will not be significantly different from each other. You're not gonna get one version be 30fps and another be 60fps or anything big like that, just minor stuff perhaps. its first party (and second) that will really shine on PS4, but I think X1 will be fine when I see stuff like ryse and quantum break visuals.
Even if they decide to make both games have exactly the same graphics while attempting to do the best they can with the XBO hardware, they'll end up pushing that system to its limits while the PS4 is sitting there with untapped power. That means when the inevitable framerate dips come during high density action sequences, one of the two consoles will not have the framerate dips.

i posted in the wrong thread but yeah those frame dips aren't going to be a significant factor imo, its one of those things that will make ps4 version slightly better, but an X1 owner shouldn't be too worried. at least that's how i see it playing out.
If Sony had unveiled the PS4 with always online DRM and mandatory camera (and the other MS stuff) GAF would shit on them the same way they do/did now with MS.
I don't know, they got away with adding a paywall and ppl blamed MS for it. Something that would've caused a huge backlash during the "free online" and "will never pay for multiplayer" mantra era. So it might've been the same situation for the other stuff.

I suspect the nature of the Xbox's setup, rather than the raw specs, will be the major headache for developers.

Well, they haveThis looks like Sony during the PS3 launch. It's almost as if they have some ex-Sony bosses there.
Depends if they port to or from Xbox One. The RAM set up is similar to almost every other console of the last 15 years and shouldn't be hard to design for, but it may be hard if games were originally designed for a faster unified set up.
You're missing the point, and are taking things out of their context. FeiRR uses the price of the kinect and other parts of the Xbox One as an excuse to claim that MS will data mine biometric data in one way or another, to make up for that loss.
I guess you're right, no developer has complained about the RAM setup on consoles before.
Well, they have
Phil Harrison (Rumble -> last gen)
So, potentionally unlocking previously locked percentage which in turn means nothing, saying that there is no difference due to the console being balanced while arguing that low percentage boost is meaningful, infinite power of The Cloud. What is next, downloadable RAM?

Except that lead platforms don't really seem to exist anymore. It seems to me that it is pretty rare that a game is developed to one platform and then ported to another these days. What we have now are engines that are made to scale to a variety of different platforms, and the game is tweaked to the specifics of each platform. It seems like it is much easier now for a developer to take advantage of each platform for multiplatform games.Depends if they port to or from Xbox One. What was the embargo that was rumored to end after September supposed to be? Just smoke? Obviously Albert said no dGPU, but was the embargo completely fabricated for it's bunked announcement? Or did I miss something.
I'm betting the opposite when all is said and done. I think devs will come to appreciate the various parts that make up the larger whole and how some of the dedicated hardware in the box will end up suiting some some of the things they have in mind. There will be some learning of course, but when they do get a handle on it, I think they will consider the overall setup to be the opposite of a headache.

Difference between 25-30fps and rocksolid 30 or 40-45 at higher res is imo very significant. We already played whole generation of 25-30fps games. Games thanks to ACEs also should provide better particle effects and physic at the same time.

with multiplats i doubt you're gonna get 25-30 on x1 and 40-45 on ps4. if you're getting 25-30 on x1 you might get solid 30 on ps4.
Dude GPU is much more capable than delivering solid 30 fps if Xbone game will do 25-30.
They will do either: solid 30 or variable 30+ at better res
or they will bump up graphics at better res
Either way difference will be significant and this won't be xbox360/ps3 difference like this gen.
I believe that in an "interview" with an "insider" on the blog on September the 27th, the "insider" said that their NDA was extended until after launch, so the megatons would be revealed... after the actual console launches. The "insider" said the NDA extension was due to Steambox. I didn't actually read the whole "interview", the english was too difficult to comprehend, so I just gave up. Don't know if I missed some other items relating to that in it/
Like, it's hard to tell if Misterx is actually that delusional or whether he's just one of the best trolls on the internet, I sincerely hope for the latter, but what's hilarious is the amount of followers you see of him in the comments. It's truly amazing what some people are willing to believe.

I know its much more capable, I'm saying that it won't be used. they will lock at solid 30. not sure they will do better res either.
