Their engine isn't optimized for a a lot of things apparently .. even on Pro the cut-scenes drop to 900p/30 FPS without any anti aliasing.
Not sure whether it's rushed development, the engine just not supporting this etc etc but this was one of the most underwhelming Pro updates I've seen.

It's not a bad port. It only need a 1000$ rigs to deliver the same performance as a 500$ console.
The cutscenes are pre-rendered videos that have been recorded at that resolution/framerate. That is mostly irrelevant to the engine.
What high quality assets?Looks like their engine isn't meant for large environment and streaming high quality assets. Game stutter a bit from streaming on PS4 pro.
Yeah, same. And how hard is it to render better quality cut scenes...The cutscene problem is the worst for me. It's so freaking jarring. I tried the fix that was mentioned, and will be testing it out tonight. Apparently it works for some, but not others.
Oh I think I know why 😏Why is this blocked in Restricted Mode!?
How's the framerate @1080p for you with the 970, have the same card and am wondering weather to get the game now or wait a bit for a few patches to happen.
Ah, good to hear, 970 owner here. Do you get frame-drops when traversing the map or do you achieve steady 60fps with settings lowered? If so, will double-dip when it hits the 20-30 line.
I think my current rig won't be able to handle this propertly, however I have a PS4Pro too.
My machine is an i5 4440 with a 970, I think it's better to go the console route, what do you guys/gals think?

Yeah, this being a quick cash-grab port I wasn't expecting anything more to be honest. In the video "competent but not especially impressive port" is said, that's far from a bad port.
Always buy it on pc if you rig is even half decentI think my current rig won't be able to handle this propertly, however I have a PS4Pro too.

Wow, there is a lot of stuttering in this game.
Is that the case on PS4 as well?
This game runs like shit on a GTX 750 Ti much below PS4 performance and settings and resolution

PS4 version stutters too.

atleast it has ultrawide support
I don't know about console guys, but you sure as hell are. The PC version is better than the console version in terms of performance and resolution, those are the facts. The issues brought up are present on all versions. If that bothers you on some deep emotional level, I'd suggest you stay away from PC performance related threads.
We wouldn't want you to get al l bent out of shape at PC elitists, for, you know, pointing out facts about performance on a performance thread, because, the horror.

Glad that PC gamers finally get to experience the janky ass chugging of Yoko Taro games. Enjoy!!!

That is to be expected. A 750 doesn't really hold up on GPU intensive games any more. It's weaker than the PS4 and much, much weaker than a Pro.
Man cmon do mass effect and Nier need to both have unoptimized PC ports?
That's simply not true. A Radeon 280X (a $200 GPU almost exactly as fast as a PS4 Pro) is delivering almost exactly the same performance as PS4 Pro.It's not a bad port. It only need a 1000$ rigs to deliver the same performance as a 500$ console.
It's running at a solid 60 FPS at 2560x1440 for me.Glad that PC gamers finally get to experience the janky ass chugging of Yoko Taro games. Enjoy!!!
Even with AA turned off?I was getting stutters every ~4 seconds. Incredibly frustrating, couldn't get rid of them. ..until I realized that G-Sync had bugged out and it was no longer active.
After rebooting, the game plays very well. No microstutter at all. At 1440p, the framerate is lower than I'd expect for the tech in the engine but I'm happy with the port.
It's funny because even with all of it's problems, this is still the best running Yoko Taro game to date.
No worries, you get all the stutter as well and low resolution on top
I bought this game on Ps4 cause I though it wouldn't have good 3440p X 1440p support. Anyone here play it at that resolution with a 1080 and can tell me how it performs?
