But in no way should they remove the droplets, that's just ludicrous. The droplets already disappear when in photo mode. Removing them from gameplay would make it so stupendously advantageous that there'd be almost no reason to even have rain.
Statement in bold is absolutely ridiculous.
What about reduced grip / slippery roads?
What about particles flying to the screen, mist in the air, water sprays?
See, there are already a bunch of things obscuring your sight, even without the droplets effect.
Once again, people driving in cockpit or dashboard views do it by choice, because of the added immersion.
The consequences of their choice (reduced visibility / increased difficulty) just shouldn't be imposed to the other players. If they're worrying about not being competitive using the in-car views, they still have the possibility to use any of the other (clearer / easier) views.
For many people the droplets effect is just unbearable, spoiling their fun, so there simply should be an option in game to disable them. You'll still have the option to disable them yourself if you can't keep with these people, but most likely, your great(er) experience with the tracks and car reactions will suffice to make up for the difference.
Denying them this option because of your own choices is just egoistic, in my opinion.
It's like preventing wheel owners from racing with you, because all you own is a DS4.
Even if DriveClub is one of the most 'pure' racers out there, its balance has always been pretty skewed: there are no separate leaderboards for controller and wheel owners, in single time trial events two people using the same course settings won't race using the exact same conditions, and so on.
And I also think that restricting options in challenges is a double-edged sword: as good as it can sound at first hearing, this would certainly put people off from trying them...
