had a friend who was banned for playing a legit copy of gears 3 one day early before release. that's kinda messed up, wouldn't you agree?
Agreed, seeing as though I got Gears 2 in the mail a day early from Amazon. Wasn't banned, luckily.

Getting banned from using the online is fine. Whatever.
Making your games essentially worthless HAS to be illegal.
It has to.
Nintendo's account system is starting to look pretty damn good.
Nope, you're fucked.
so they are admiting that you are buying a license but not a game
Wait, Doesn't Sony do this with PSN already?
another thread based on bullshit, sweet
Good thing you can always just buy physical copies.
So you can't freak out one night on accident. Say you're drunk or what not. Its like a year after launch. You have quite a bit of games to your account. Then suddenly...they're all gone. That $^&*# sucks!
This policy will honestly effect kids and teenagers the most, as they say and do shit that most adults don't really do. Imagine a 13 year old kid balling his eyes out in front of his parents because he said mini hate speechs and can't access any games.
Just another reason why I would never buy an Xbone.
Ah alright, so you can still log in PSN and redownload the games if you're still banned?
lol are you that much of a troll that you would get banned?
Will they still ban you for being gay?
Meh, don't really have a problem. Don't cheat/be an dickbag online. Not hard.
Ok, Ok. So someone clarify here.
1. I buy the game Metal Gear V.
2. I then hop on and play Titan Fall. I do something stupid, get framed, whatever, and get banned.
3. What happens to MGSV? Can I still play it?
So, let me get this straightif you are banned from xbox live your console becomes a paperweight?
Here's a thought: Getting banned shouldn't mean all the games you invested in disappear into thin air. Here's a thought; Maybe you shouldn't get fucking banned
Losing single player access doesn't make any sense, true. (and to reiterate; It does not make sense that I, or anyone, should lose access to all content if there is an illegitimate ban placed on my account)
Is there any angle they didn't fuck up

Locking you from store access and online play, fine whatever. But locking you from game authentication, effectively revoking your ability to boot and play already purchased purely single player Xbox One titles, would be pretty fucking low.
god no! you can still play dvd's and blu-rays!
I've never been banned, and I'll never be banned, but that's some Grade-A bullshit. There's no justification for forfeiting the rights to your entire games catalog for misbehaving on their online service.
I think they are actively sabotaging themselves at this point
