Amazing news!

I just hope this is not like those Wayforward deals where they make ok-ish licensed games to fund their great original games.

3 pages and not a single screen shot from the cartoon show....

Well....the cartoon isn't that good anyway :l (in my option at least). It is a huge step down from the original series in almost every way (the sole exception is the animation but...that is it :(). Its really dumbfounding; they did a wonderful job with the original series and the show originally started off nice too but...once the second half of the first season begain...all the good parts of the show just started to fall flat :(.

Still, it looks like season 3 might be better (I think it has spirits and human's living in the same place now?), so there is that at least :l.

My dream of a Attack on Titan game made by Platinum is one step closer to becoming reality

Are we going to ban IGN if this turns out to be false?

First season is kind of rough (mostly the first half), because it's really aimed at kids. But it gets better as it goes along. Seasons 2 and 3 are much better. It's actually one the most mature animations I've seen (when it comes to themes and subtext). It's also one of the most satisfying stories I've watched.

So definitely give it a shot. Don't let it being a "kids" show scare you off. Because honestly, outside the first half of Season 1, it really isn't a kids show.

Thanks, I stopped in the first half somewhere. Will give it another shot.

(If the PG game is good lol)

I'm just surprised it's downloadable-only. I expect it won't be as deep as their other games though, since it's a show that airs on Nick...

Would have preferred a Last Air Bender game for the better characters and (likely) better plot but an Avatar game made Platinum Games is a day 1 purchase.

Eh, its not like it's a full fledged Avatar game. Downloadable + Activision is telling me not to expect too much. Still, I really want a good battle system and since its Platinum I'm excited.

Sounds like Family Guy syndrome, hammering whats popular into the ground on your return. Futurama got it, and now Korras got it.

Look for more on Platinum's The Legend of Korra game, including our hands-on impressions, later this week.
Why didn't they just tell us when the impressions will be up? It's Wednesday. Just say "Come back tomorrow" or "Come back Friday".

Can't wait to see gameplay footage.

Big issues with Korra.
No issues with Platinum.

If I can deal with a Treasure made McDonalds game (which was really good), then I can deal with a Platinum made Korra game.

Guys, it 's published by Activision, it came out of nowhere because it got pitched yesterday, they'll start developing it next month.

This really is a clash of two unstoppable forces.

Platinum game's awesomeness vs Activision's shittyness.

lets see which one prevails

So, are these Avatar shows any good for mature audience like me?

not sure if sarcasm

I kinda like season 1 though :(

But honestly, I prefer Avatar's focus on the adventure and well, Aang's development because the focus is on kids rather than Korra which you can see the focus is more on what teens would want (romance, etc.)

Man this is a really, REALLY good fit for Platinum. Bending could be the basis for a really awesome action game.

So, are these Avatar shows any good for mature audience like me?

Avatar: The Last Airbender is maybe the best animated show ever to come out of the United States. It's honestly right up there with Batman: The Animated Series. Some people will say it's better. It's that good.

The Legend of Korra is not anywhere close to that good, and some people will tell you it's absolute garbage, but I think it's still worth watching.

This reads like one of those "if you could imagine one impossible game combination based on your favorite show" fantasies. Maybe it will set a precedent for good licensed games? One can dream.

First of all. The game PG is doing is based off series 2

Series 1 is Avatar: The Last Airbender (4 seasons)
Series 2 is Avatar TLA: The Legend of Korra

2nd, PG games are always good.

Activision specialises in lazy low-budget film/TV tie-ins, yet Platinum Games are usually extremely reliable. I guess it will have great combat, probably nice visuals but bad presentation.

Korra isn't as good as The Last Airbender, but it's still decent. It has it's moments though, "The Beginning" (I think that was the episode name anyway) was some of the best TV I saw last year.
