PSVR requires 2x3 metres of space to use. Polygon requires 2x3 beers to comprehend.

You don't need that much, that's just recommended maximum cleared playing space that they want to promote for safety reasons. Majority of the games will be sitting or standing experience. There will not be walking.

Sony is playing it safe, they don't want to get sued later on for accidents.
Gotcha. I do have the space provided its a sitting thing.

Joystiq, ***lul*****, why is polygon not banned from here?

They seem to be like the old grandparent you get drunk at Christmas to say stupid shit that the whole family can laugh at.

So they are allowed to say their stupid shit every now and then for the entertainment of an audience at GAF.

They provide too much entertainment. I think they are getting the joker exemption. Just look at this thread, and all the fun they created with their ridiculous story. Now, imagine if we weren't even able to really discuss this story because they were banned.

My grandad would just get angry and audibly racist when drunk. Although I guess it was kind of funny when he set the table on fire pouring methyl alcohol into the fondue heater.

Polygon seems to have a habit of making asses of themselves. At least they put out some pretty great stories occasionally to make up for it.

It's just more clickbait articles in the world of news that must be clickbait articles.

Anyone who has used PSVR or even just the camera knows how much space and how wide of a view it has. As long as you are within the view of the camera, your VR experience will be fine.

That's why the story made no sense.

dat thread title change and these posts, god bless you all

i almost cancel my NeoGAF gold membership because of the disappointment in the first 2 1/2 pages i was reading

You should know auto-renewal is now permanent unless you summon Bish by saying his name 3 times in front of the mirror and then having a sob story ready as to why you cannot fund the GAF Empire anymore. Good luck.

I'm looking at it, and that's why I don't understand why this site is still allowed on gaf.

Not only do I have to buy a new console (Neo) for PSVR to work, despite only getting a PS4 a couple of years back, I also need to get a new 4K HDR ready TV, nice and shiny new furniture to accommodate all of this new equipment, recalculate my monthly electricity bill because of all the new electronic stuff being used (I hope that new VR processor doesn't eat as much electricity as my fridge) and now, thanks to Polygon, I find out that I need a bigass space for it to work "properly". Lol moving costs and a new apartment is going to take a toll on my wallet if I want to play VR games as they're meant to be. I think I might just pass on this and alert some friends and relatives so they can cancel their pre-orders before they find out they can't enjoy this new fad.
This VR stuff is so expensive, I'm sure it'll outright fail and, honestly, deep inside I want it to.

oh good point! what about psvr porn? how much 'space" you need for that?

All I can say is I refrained from voting in the GAF penis length poll.

I didn't want to skew the figures the wrong way. I feel more accomplished seeing the end product of 9+ inches being the average. GAF deserves the best representation and I would sorely let the team down.

"Bish. Bish. Bish".

Nothing happened. That can't be right. I've heard stories of it working. I've seen videos of people summoning Bish. What can I be doing wrong? Am I permanently a GAF Gold member? I can explain why I cannot temporary fund the empire but I need a platform to explain it. The approval process itself is quite lengthy, the removal of auto-renewal is a whole different game.

No matter, let's try again with clarity.

"Bish. Bish... Bish."

Nothing. I must be missing something. What other ways can I summon Bish? I've tried everything, from email to appointments. I've searched every method that doesn't involve hurting his feelings, but now I have no choice.

They are a large company who wants to avoid as many lawsuits as possible, even if they are not warranted, is the way I read these requirements.

Trouble is their stupid shit got some people to cancel their pre-orders

Aren't you even a little curios about why the thread title is mocking Polygon?

Don't do this, lol. Read, lol.

How could you possibly not see that thread title by now

I saw the thread title. But the fact that the OP wasn't really updated to reflect the title was a bit confusing. Because the article wasn't really updated either.

I also only read the first page of the thread.

I see now reading further into the thread that it is indeed a boundary thing. So that's the entire workable area, not the REQUIRED area. Which is fine. Because my gaming room is small. I can't use Kinect 1.0 in it and can BARELY use 2.0 in it.

Oh, I did not know it was GG, I will remove it.

I just remember seeing articles pop up years ago.

Edit: fixed from a 3 year old forum post.

What ever was the outcome... never followed too closely?

Honestly? It was a lot of people looking for an axe to grind. For a start it was Internet Explorer, not Xbox that partnered with Vox Media (ad division is not editorial which is really really hard for some people to get their heads around) - and it was only for this video series at the time. Microsoft IE then went on to sponsor the Human Angle series, something which had nothing to do with Sony or Xbox. High end documentaries like this cost a lot of money to produce for what is essentially free to the end user.

The documentary itself if you watch it was less to do with Polygon and how Vox Media the company were giving them editorial freedom, free from the problems that lead to events like the Gamespot debacle— which actually was a real thing that happened but nobody brings up anymore. Why's that, I wonder?

Yes there are some moments where it was taken a little too seriously but if you think that a billion dollar company like Vox Media takes payola to rate Sony exclusives lower than Microsoft ones then I just gotta ask you; do you know how ridiculous that sounds?
