I would 100% buy a copy of Skullgirls if they could work her in as a DLC guest character for cross-promotion.

Was thinking this in the car today, after 21 hours of no sleep:

Could the Skullgirls model work on a permanent basis?

Sell the game at a low-ish price, use crowdfunding to fund future content, which is offered free for a set period, then at cost afterwards.

Basically a never-ending crowdfunding campaign. I mean if SKullgirls raised $460k in 30 days, but needed another $140k to get that 3rd char, wouldn't another few months of crowdfunding get that figure? The extra char continues interest in the game, so it sells more base copies, and those folks buy the DLC since it's past the time limit.

Naw. This game has a lot of die-hard fans, and I wouldn't want to tip the scales when I'm not an active member of the community. I would only vote for him if I also knew that I would buy the game and him, and he's not enough to bring me in. He's just a...first step, if you will.

I'm glad this game is getting so much support, though, and I hope it continues to grow. Now, if the Sorceress from DC got in, I'd 100% buy just to say "thanks" to them for helping promote VanillaWare, and then I would buy Brain Drain and play them together.

But it would probably have to be exclusive to the PC release for them to want to do that, and since Dragon's Crown isn't coming to the PC, I don't think they'd see it as a valuable cross-promotion.

Small steps are better than no steps. I have no problems admitting that I'd vote a guy over a favorite of my mine if it got another guy on the roster. I'm just lucky because Squigly, Peacock and Parasoul makes a three person team already.

Dragons's Crown should totally have a PC port. Too bad it won't. Cross promotion of that kind would be pretty sick. Also, Kinuko would probably have a field day with the sorceress' design.

I think a good amount has to do with people either already having donated..or waiting for the tiers..I do believe at least one 7.5k package has been taken although it's not on the books yet. But at the least we'll get big band before this is all over..with a definite bump right at the end of the month as people begin to freak out alot.

It's nice to see how split the voting will be too. If we actually get to that point.

I would love to see a SamSho style character in Skullgirls, no chains, fierce button does massive damage, etc.

I doubt anyone like that is planned though. Maybe a Jubei from Samsho/Fritz from Akatsuki hybrid.
