Namco doesn't have any say in what goes on with SFXTK but this might make Rolento's inclusion more possible.

Wow, Harada is awesome. Didn't know he was a Rolento fan like me ^_^

Honestly, out of all the SF universe character's, the one that'd fit the most in the Tekken universe would have to be Rolento.

also, GAF I want to get a head count of who you main in Tekken, even if its not currently, but who you plan to in TTT2

for me:

Dragunov/Jack-6

though I may switch out J6 for closer/further range character to balance my team more.

Saw a retail SKU for a Tekken Hybrid: Collector's Edition for $59.99. Anyone have any idea if this is real and if so, what it includes?

Tekken 1: Law
Tekken 2: Law
Tekken 3: Bryan/Heihachi
Tekken Tag Tournament: Armor King/King & Jin/Heihachi
Tekken 4: King/Lee
Tekken 5: King/Kazuya
Tekken 5DR: Jin (didn't play that much & only really dabbled w/ Jin)
Tekken 6BR: Armor King/Hwoarang

TTT2 Plan:

Team 1: Amor King/Julia
Team 2: Hwoarang/Zafina

But I can say with almost complete certainty my choice will change once the game comes out :p

Thanks, I'll probably include it. Currently working on Wakeup/Okizeme and i'll post both of them up when it gets done :)

I hope the next Tekken game has another time skip, like how Tekken 3 took place twenty or so years after Tekken 2. I'm sick of the same characters over and over again. They should just bring everyone back for the Tekken Tag series. Part of the appeal of the original TTT was that it brought back all of the original Tekken 1/2 characters, but that appeal is gone in TTT2 because all of them were brought back into the main story again when Tekken 5 was released.

I'm honestly hoping for this as well. Tekken 3 did an awesome job at this. I wonder if its too much of a risk in Namco's eyes at this point to do... but honestly, most characters do have a legit excuse not to age in Tekken.

I'm planning on having my main team as:
Nina/Xiaoyu

That may change once I get the actual game. Maybe I'll replace Xiaoyu with Lee, Anna, or Jun.

In TTT2 I plan on using my favorite T6 characters, Dragunov and Leo. I might try Dragunov and Bryan because their combo throw is so amazing though.

You're welcome brother! Always a pleasure talking about Tekken :) Happy to see you enjoying yourself!

I guess the same thing I told TreIII in the other forum, good fundamentals from 2D games still transfer onto Tekken. Specifically, forcing people to respect your space.

Here's some videos of Justin Wong playing TTT2 @ comic-con after a near 6-9 year hiatus of playing the game and doing VERY well by just breaking both Jack and Feng to a few essential moves and forcing his opponents to yield to his space: 1 2 3 4

So that's the same thing for starting with Lili, keep practicing movement to whiff punish when possible and sidestep. Here's Kane's Lili, the top Lili player in America and you can have an idea of how he utilizes Lili really well:

http://www.twitch.tv/avoidingthepuddle/b/293587607

It might be a little fast to take in but watching videos definitely helps me quite a bit. (commentary will be very distracting though lol).

Another thing newer players should really learn is how to wakeup properly, I'm working on it right now and maybe I'll upload it tonight on the second OT thread I made. I called it Tekken |OT| so there'd be some hype in the gaming section and all further T6 discussion would be moved there. :) The thread was made for TTT2's release in a few days, but almost all the basics apply to T6 as well!
Thanks for the tips! I'll watch those videos right away!

I am lucky enough to have a good sized Tekken scene locally and with some very good players who have a lot of national tourney experience so I am glad to have good advice from everywhere, offline and online.

But I definely need to work on spacing and movement. They both seem super important in this. My only issue that I was having a lot last night was getting a duck/jump or sidewalk instead of a sidestep. I guess that's just a "practice makes perfect" thing.

Doomshine said:
Movement and knowing how to get up is very important. You will get re-juggled a lot if you get up at the wrong time and movement obviously opens up opportunities for big damage.

Knowing your punishers is also important, otherwise your opponent will start abusing certain moves if he notices that you don't know how to punish them.

Every character usually has around 10 moves that you should focus on while others are more situational, gimmicky or even useless. Knowing these moves makes it a little easier to start playing a character since you don't have to randomly pick from 40+ moves. Obviously you shouldn't become predictable either and NEVER use any other moves.

All the character forums on Tekken Zaibatsu should have a top 10 moves thread, list of punishers and combos. I personally like to check out the video threads as well. Watching high level play usually gives you a good idea of how to play to your character's strenghts.

Hope that makes sense, I'm a little tired D;
Yep! Found the Lili Top 10 thread and will be trying those moves out today. Also I have been reading this Tekken 101 thread for advice. It's from 2009, but I assume it's all still sound advice.

The wife plays Lili and I'll say, she has one mean side step. Lili's been tone done a little in TTT2 hasn't she?

I was able to beat a decent Devil Jin in a single set yesterday by timing my sidestep pretty well (when I could get it off properly that is)and doing a quick strike or two after, so I am pleased with it. It's a weird mechanic to get used to coming from almost exclusively 2D fighters, other than some general fooling around.

Pretty much. It's your safest way of giving out a punish from a sidestep. Lili has her u+3 or d+f,2 for the easy launcher. Mehhhh, damn her f,f+4 though. I just can't see it coming at all. And I hope Leo gets some buffs in TTT2.

I use Lili sometimes but I'm far from being actually really good with her. You should definitely maximize damage output with her with wall splats. Some examples here by Kane.

Edit: Here is part 2.

Also, I've decided to just work on a Nina/Anna team for Tag 2 only because they both have special tag throws and win stances. Not to mention Anna makes games a lot more hilarious with her intros and win poses. Hopefully, they retain some of those for Tag 2. "I don't have time to play games with you" or "what an utter disappointment" or "ooooh yes." Make me lul every time. Whoever does her voice acting does a phenomenal job.

So whats up with Tekken Tag HD on that Hybrid release??

Will this come to the US and will it be on PSN release soon after? What about the 360?

One more thing, when will Namco drop the price of Tekken 5:DR on PSN? Damn.

Tekken Hybrid will release November 22 this year. It's exclusive to the PS3.

King and Nina has been my main mains since T2. They shall be my ultimate team in TTT2 :D.

I just need to figure out how I'm going to do my other 3 mains: (Raven, Bruce, Christie).

I might pair Bruce with Wang for the long range/short range. Raven and Christie for the trickery :D

T3s ost is the best in the series in my opinion. Gunjack, Kuma, King, Nina, Dr. B, Gon, Yoshi.... I can go on and on.

King's Sky arena music is my favorite in the series period. I don't know what it was about that music, but I could not lose LOL.

Updated the thread with Wakeup and Okizeme. That was kinda challenging for me to explain and if some people would like to critique and give me ways to improve it it would be most appreciated :D

Now, to think of ways to explain Tekken's wall game....

And here's a cool video showing some combo highlights that happened during Thailand's location tests.

Thanks to Aris from avoidingthepuddle.com for bringing it to my attention.

And also, Tekken Crash Season 8's finale has been uploaded!

Concensus with the reception of those who saw it is that if you like the typical school girl slice of life style Anime stories with a little bit of CGI action-porn in between, you’ll enjoy the movie. You won’t find a whole film centered on badass Mishima’s killing one another (which really is what the fans actually wanted) but you will get some entertainment out of it if you've been following the series previously.

Please tell me there's a shower scene in this. I think the Japanese government passed a law saying all fighting game based anime should have a shower scene in there.

All I know is that there is an intimate scene with Ling and Alisa... and I'm sure there's a shower involvement somewhere in the movie judging by Ling using a towel here:

I prefer the Tekken 5 version, but they're both good.

Also everyone should definitely watch the Tekken Crash grand final, it's so good.

I updated the grapple section and corrected some mistakes under the Life damage scaling between T6 and TTT2 section.

Currently working on wakeup and okizeme and it's driving me crazy trying to figure out a way to explain and find good footage to explain it :/

Is Tekken 6 worth picking up?

Honestly, im a big fighting game fan but tekken 6 was just terrible. the game just hasnt evolved and the last boss is absolutely ridiculous. Its the only game i own on 360 where i have 0/1000 achievements.

I know a lot of people will disagree with me but all im saying is just be wary of the game..i really dont think it's that good.
