Don't you get it? You like and play video games, therefore you are responsible to become an anti-consumer activist and make sacrifices for the greater good!I'm not obligated to boycott just because someone else can't play it.
That's not self important. That's just wanting to buy a videogame I like the look of. I'm not obligated to boycott just because someone else can't play it.
And if you read my post, you'll see I acknowledged the problem. At the end of the day, this problem doesn't affect me, so why should I go any further than that? It sucks for them, but I'm glad I can play it
They forgot how to code after Carmack left.
I bought Half-Life 2 from Gamestop and the employee just asked me if I wanted the box with Gordon or "Gordon's bitch".I worked at game when half life 2 came out we had to tell anybody that bought it that it required online activation I guess this is like that.

Yep.how every problem with mankind got started.
Those people would be wrong to judge something like that upon my intentions to purchase a videogame. That's something an asshole would doOf course you're not obligated to boycott, but people also aren't obligated to think you're not an asshole.
I really don't understand this. How could it possibly pass certification?
Yep, that's my line of thinking as well. From a collectors standpoint I really hate this kind of thing. in the future once the console is past its life cycle and the servers have shut down this game is lost unless they still sell it and the discs will be worthless.
Obviously this isn't the case, or else people wouldn't be complaining.
I'm assuming the game is literally won't let you play until you download the update.
I assume this is true for the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 build? If so, had a mate looking forward to it who cannot easily connect his system to the internet and use that much bandwidth (yes, I realise how archaic this is). Guess he'll be missing out.

I was watching some dude play the russian retail ps3 version so I highly doubt it.I assume this is true for the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 build? Always online future is here. People without decent internet are doomed.

Who green lighted the dvd/blu ray impression of a no functional version?.

How will it affect them eventually? It's called not being short sighted. Just because it doesn't affect you now doesn't mean it won't eventually. What happens then? Nothing because you were short-sighted git who couldn't possibly see it coming.
So climate change is on the same level as a patch issue in a video game now.Climate change doesn't affect me so who cares...
Actually..that is a DAMN good point, well spotted sir.I'm asking around to find out if this is true, but out of curiosity, what makes you guys think some random Twitter account with an Xbox avatar and 1 follower is a reliable source of information on a video game that isn't out yet?
Can anyone corroborate this? I'd hope that this is too ridiculous to be true.
But we don't know. Is not like the person put the disc in without the console not connected to the internet. If he did, he would have said so. Probably he did, who knows. The only fact that we know of now is that the game requires a massive update.
Of course you're not obligated to boycott, but people also aren't obligated to think you're not an asshole.

Does anybody know who the person's twitter account is? I ask because they have a whopping 1 follower.
I thought they had certification requirements mandating that your game must run without an internet connection sans multiplayer.
Do last gen consoles have a patch too?
I was watching some dude play the russian retail ps3 version so I highly doubt it.
I wonder what are the patch sizes for those versions are
I dont know though considering I was watching a vid of a guy playing for 20 mins that he recorded. Think it was a GAF user actually? Which was the PS3 version.
