Don't get too excited (I'd sure as hell be if I hear Mario Castañeda or René García in my FFXV) this is just LatAm text and subs. FFXV will have english, japanese, french and german dubs "only".
Ooohh... It would've been cool to hear a Latin American dub as well.
Yes, you can switch in-game. English and Japanese voices are included in the German version. What the fuck. Final Fantasy in german. What the fuck. I hope I can change midgame, I want to try it out, the english dub so far is mediocre.
I'm not sure, but didn't all FFs since FFVII have Italian subs? These special announcements were done because they were firsts for mainline, single-player FFs. Italian text is normal, that's why there's no special video, I guess.
Latin American spanish is great news, I cant stand Spain spanish on my videogames, might be the first game in a long time that I play a game in spanish.
never before. that's the first game in the whole series which is getting a localization
So glad publishers are taking seroiusly latam. Buying the game day one (will play it in english anyway, or maybe japanese, I don't know).Latin American Spanish, too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaGlg876rSk
Hoping they won't butcher the abilities' names for Portuguese like they did in XIII for Spanish.
Gelo, Gelo+ e Gelo++, aqui vamos nós!
Brazilian portuguese is too different from Portuguese Portuguese, we kinda butchered a bunch of verb tables when we've decided to use "você"(3rd person pronoun) as "tu"(2nd person), we actually use vowels when we speak(vowels in PT-PT are more silent or hidden, when brazilians make then sound louder) and we can't speak as fast as the portuguese...and there are a lots of words and slangs from portugal that in brazil just sound ... wrong LOL... sometimes i think is easier to understand english than portuguese from portugal...it's almost another languageRemember those weird times where videogames starting noticing Latin America and tried to make one so-called "neutral" spanish for every country including europe? It sucked for everyone! Remember Halo 2? It was horrible!
Thankfully that weird transition ended quickly and since then we started getting our own dubs (when there's any to speak of).
It weird how Americans or British can perfectly hear or withstand a dub from each other that they don't feel the need to redub nothing but when it comes to Spanish and Portuguese we Latin Americans need our own versions because the general consensus is we can't stand european Spanish and Portuguese.
Yes, Sony first party has been doing very well with Turkish support.
Sorry to hear of Greek audio not being in Uncharted. I recall seeing Greek text on GT5 though!
Noctis taking over this year

Good. It's been too long. One week!
I also hope they redo Cindy's voice too, that over the top country accent was.. interesting. Having a country accent is one thing but that was super.. bad lol
that's actually better than I expected o-oBrazilian gaf, here's an example if FF XV was dubbed by profissional brazilian dubbers:

What happened? I don't remember XIII having a bad translation.
All the voices were bad in the English dub though.
This is awesome, but, how would you translate something like Firaga to spanish? Fuegoga?
I'm going to try nonetheless, must appreciate the effort!
well, i assumed that since whenever people say it shouldn't be a mainline game, they do it because they don't think XIV "deserves" to be one just because it's online...you could ditch some of the MMO parts and the game would still make a solid rpg, i don't think it deserves that kind of prejudice, that's what makes people upset when you say things like that...
4 times CGI space lol? I really do hope that if one day the game will come to Steam they won't force us to download the prerendered cutscenes 4 times.

Holy shit, really? I mean I always knew there were differences as much as Latin and European Spanish have but almost another language? As native spanish speaker I couldn't tell the difference between both Portugueses and I've had both spoken to me slowly enough and I'm able to understand 90% of what they're saying. Its truly amazing how similar Spanish and Portuguese are that you can speak in one and be understood by the other without having to know the same language.
awww, with such quality dub teams in Mexico and they are not going to dub it to Latin Spanish? such a shame, the game has an actual very big audience with LA being mostly Latin Spanish speakers
I hope it will be the same, sounds good in spanish and it doesn't really mean something in english apart from fire, and the later ones lose that mean
Fire, Fira, Friaga, etc. were Piro, Piro+ and Piro++ in Spanish.
The rest probably was probably good, I just found it silly
That, and the subtitles using original Japanese names when the English dub used English names—like "Serendipity" vs "Xanadu". Just minor nitpicks
I can't hear the differences from latin spanish and castillan but i imagine that for a native speaker it must be a bit like our case...
Trust me. It's night and day.
And I'm willing to bet that the Spanish you understand better is the Latin one (especially from Mexico... never watched El Chavo del 8 in its original tongue?) since it's the more neutral. Spaniards took the ball and ran with it to their own tiny little corner, it's so different from the rest of us. Most of the Spanish dubs for movies and tv shows that people all over Latin America get are made in Mexico because of its relatively neutrality so chances are thats the one you've been more in contact with. You'll never hear a European Spanish dub making its way over here officially (unless it was originally made in Spain at which point it wouldn't be a dub).
This is exciting news, kudos to Square Enix for making this accessible to more people.
Should be fun comparing the various languages.
nice, german version it is

I would go fucking crazy if that were the case.
Most games today are dubbed to Latin American spanish on Venezuela, though....
Feu1 Feu2 Feu3 is kind of outdated as it was only present in the terribad translation of FFVII. Nowadays it's more "Brasier" "Brasier +" and "Brasier X"In French, I've often see Feu, Feu² and Feu³. It's cool. I don't miss the "ra" and "ga".
I understand now, but you could've just said that as an MMO, XIV would get better localization deals or something like that...I see. I very much don't think like that. I say they are not mainline FFs simply because of how different their nature (or DNA, if you will) are. I consider Final Fantasy Tactics to be a masterpiece, and one of the greatest games ever made. But still, had Square released the game as Final Fantasy VIII, it would have been a mistake.
