Doesn't seem to drop anything exclusive, just one random material that you can get from Raids.
It's a neat little minigame but it's much more lucrative to just go on Raids.

There's also an unlockable arcade machine but I'm not sure if there are rewards for getting high scores. Only tried once before bed and got a C :messenger_grinning_smiling:

You're usually ok if there's one or two levels difference, but anymore you'l likely get swamped. Just grind a few levels in areas you've already completed.

The progression is very well done. You'll find that a few dungeons are simply dps
checks and you'll need to have a good enough weapon to kill mobs in time. But that means simply uograding a few times.

Game is crack.

And I love the fact that you're able to rerun areas and breeze through at a higher level.

They're are 3 and 4 levels above me. I'm rerunning to grind right now. Game is crack indeed good sir

Yeah I played about 90 mins last night and it's very addictive and fun. Had to force myself to turn it off to put the kids to bed. Good thing I'm heading into ten days off work!

Wish I had someone to play multiplayer with though. Tried to convince my kid to trade in his PS5 for a Switch 2 but he wouldn't bite, lol.
 
The purple / tactical gadgets are my favorite - to the point that I kind of get annoyed when the game wants me to use anything else :messenger_grinning_sweat:

well holy shit here's more to this than I originally thought here are sort of a lives system in this game
if you die too many times on the raids they kick you back to the main hub
after the tutorial level the first raid is linear and I was like is this game going to be linear its not
there was a couple things in the third level I couldn't do right away cuz I didn't have the right equipment or something
in my opinion Nintendo needs to release a demo of the tutorial and the first two raids so people get a feel for this game
 
Game is legit fun. Have the day off work, wife has tons of chores she wants me to do, all I wanna do is curl up with my squidlings and kill shit.
 
This game is the purest form of fun. The gameplay mechanics in Splatoon are just so damn addicting. I loved S2 multiplayer, but this looter style variant is just ace!

Get this game, folks! And support physical!

HDR doesn't improve the render resolution. It looks very soft in TV mode, I doubt it's even hitting 1080p during gameplay. But as I mentioned before, there is a noticeable resolution bump during cutscenes.

Apparently Splatoon 3's Switch 2 upgrade uses DLSS, so I wonder why they didn't use it for this game as well. Hopefully they'll add it in an update.
 
People shouldn't give this a pass for graphics. Doesn't look like effort was made to make it look like a Switch 2 game and on top of that it is only 1080p (or worse?)in docked mode?

So many Nintendo games aren't breaking 1080p barrier in docked which is really sad with these graphics on a system that can output at 4k. At least hit 1440p for christ sakes Nintendo!

I think it uses dynamic resolution to hit 1080/60
 
Sounds like everyone in here is really loving this game. I didn't have any intention to pick it up anytime soon or maybe even at all but sounds like it's right up my alley really, a fun and engaging single player experience. I'm tempted.

I'm almost exclusively running a speed tank build because movement is too fun but in terms of efficiency I found tactical to be kind of broken, if you upgrade the turret and then either the bombs or the five lasers you can just drop the items, circle around the salmonids and shoot from afar with a long range weapon and it melts everything.

Who gives a fuck? I play games for gameplay and not for 4k graphics or 2k graphics as a priority! Enjoy the gameplay my guy and have fun! Game looks fine and with so much going on, how can you even care about the resolution??? Game is AMAZING fun!

Good catch! I also had some success with random matchmaking by pooping in some obvious keywords like "Splatoon" and it paired up without a hitch. We could easily put in a keyword "neogaf" or something and it would kind of be like a mini-server.

I DO obviously. Why do we buy new consoles if not for better graphics and performance? It's rediculous that you would have a problem with someone complaining about graphics given the fact that you also must want improvements othwrwise you wouldn't have bought a Switch 2 either.

We already bought Switch 1's. Could've saved a lot of money if Nintendo was just going to make Switch 1 games.

Hardware upgrades provide more than just improvements to fidelity.

I play games for gameplay, not graphics. And the graphics in Splatoon are fine. The frame rate is the key in this game and in my eyes, it holds steady at 60 frames a sec which is all I'm after.
 
Game was delayed until this afternoon for me, but it finally arrived. Yep, this is Splatoon gameplay alright. Same as always and still great.

Just for fun I plugged up the old Wii U and walked around in Splatoon again and it's so sad to not be able to play the online part anymore.
 
Made it to the second big boss. Story is pretty much straight garbo, but the grind is extremely satisfying.

It looks great, but I'm not surprised to see you whining about, wait for it... graphics! Dude, just got get yourself the most expensive PC and parts because you'll never be satisfied with any graphics on any console.
