Took me 23 hours to finish on hard / listening mode off. But i searched a lot for loot. I guess you find more and easier loot in normal. Also the first encounter took me a while.

So what difficulty should I play it on? I dont mind sneaking around, but I also dont have much time. Plus I like to take out most enemies, but also dont want it to be super easy.

As stated above. Normal with listen mode off. I think that is still enjoyable, offers a slight challenge but still gives you the ability to kill every enemy you want to.

Any harder difficulty than that and your tactics would change to one of avoidance rather than conflict unless you really need to.

Yeah there is a non-first day edition, I ordered it a week ago for £29.99 from 365games.co.uk although price has gone up this week. 365 games also sell the US retail version if you want uncut multiplayer.

Cheapest price at the moment seems to be GameStop £30 and includes pre order bonus.

thanks. Have a preorder in with amazon at £38 - how do I poke them to try and get a price match?

edit: someone recommended never wasting a shiv on a clicker - saving them to unlock doors etc. So you just let yourself die and restart the checkpoint? I don't think there is any way to avoid death if you don't use a shiv (once they've grabbed you)

No, you make sure you take the clickers down other ways: guns, melee weapons, (other things you might not know about that I don't want to spoil) or simply 'RUN!'.

If you're going for a hard difficulty you'll need everything you can find and shivs are necessary.

Is anyone else like me? I am hoping that those hats & masks which were uploaded with DLC 2 and then pulled-back are indicative of possible future PS4 DLC?

No online passes on PS4 (at least from Sony published games).
You set your US account as primary, but your main UK will still be a primary account. You can have as many primaries as you want on one PS4.

Thanks for that. Seems to be no trouble at all then.

No & Yes.

Shared trophy list with PS3? I didn't think they'd said anything on this yet.

So how does this work playing the USA version online in the UK do I need to set my primary account to a US one and redeem the online pass on there? Not even sure if there is an online pass to be honest.

No confirmation afair. But normally, lists are only shared between cross-save/buy/play titles - so I would assume that this one hasn't a shared list.

So if I buy the US version I would need to create a US account to play the uncut MP In the UK?

If you buy retail? No.
Digital? Obviously, how else could you buy the game? Even redeeming a code (let's say from Amazon.com) would require an US account.

But again, you don't need to play on that account. Just play the game with your usual, from whatever region that one might be.

It is a big risk, imagine not being able to decapitate a dude with a shotgun? Horrifying. I wake up in a cold sweat thinking about it.

Reason enough to not even buy the damn game :O

Thankfully I live in a part of the world that lets me be a blood thirsty vicious gore seeking Raptor baby!!

Enough sarcasm already. If someone wants to get an uncut version of a game, he has every reason to do so. For me, it's a matter of principle.

Exploding heads and limbs flying off in MP is exactly why I went through the trouble of getting a US digital version. No foolin'

Fo real, my victims must be blood stumps when I am finished tearing.

Oh my..

lols.

Seriously, I don't want to see videos because Im going fresh but one thing I haven't discussed yet or asked about it is the sound, like is there nasty sounds, satisfying sounds for hits, or kills, like in Gears or Wolfenstein the headshots and regular hits sounds awesome to put an example.

Is multiplayer more like Gears or Uncharted? Or something altogether different? I only played the single played the first time round

Never played Gears so I can't comment there, but it's nothing like Uncharted. In UC you can just run around doing your own thing -- that fails horribly in TLOU. You really need to stick with your teammates and move quietly (no running). Crafting plays a big role in the game too.

Haven't tried Gears but compared to Uncharted is way slower and tactical, with a strong emphasis on teamwork. There are teams out there with voicecoms that run an gun, and these will overrun a disorganised opposing team, but in general the game rewards a slow, thoughful approach.

Unlike Gears and Uncharted, TLoU doesn't have a glued-on cover system so you feel more detached and free with your movement.

The sound is every bit as brutal as what's shown on the screen. The sound effects are one of the biggest reasons that the game is so intense, you definitely won't be disappointed

I predict I will love this game a lot, still my expectations are in check, well not really this will be insane!!!!

Can't wait for my "The Road" Sim!!

It's much more like a Children of Men sim really.

But Joel is like Viggo and the girl is like his son, going scavanging for food and supplies etc, thats the movie that comes to my mind when I see this, not Children of Men.

But it doesn't matter anyway since that movie is pure greatness too and if is like that then amazing.

Think i'll have to cancel my £31 zavvi preorder and get the 365games one! cant see why not :p

on the page though it says "Any future DLC may require a US PSN account", wat? :<

For everyone wanting the GORE and UNCENSORED version in the UK or EUROPE:

  • Buy US Dollar PSN credit (I just got it emailed from Play Asia)
  • Create a US PSN account and set your PS4 as its primary - this makes all your games one long list
  • Preorder the Digital Version on the US store for £30
  • Play it like normal on your EU profile..

I'm kinda tempted to get the NTSC version, but at the same time the censored MP really doesn't bother me, even though it would be nice to have.

Question for those who played on Survival.

Did you play it as Survival+ or just Survival? Its like New Game + if I remember and it you start with your skills intact next play through.

Also did you guys skill up your "aiming" skill. Heard some went as far as not upgrading it to make it a tougher challenge. On my hard playthrough I did keep upgrading my aiming skills just cause I felt it was too much unstable if left alone. Thoughts.

Whatever happened to this by the way? I guess they were hoping we forgot about it...
