PS Plus games for February: Yakuza 4, Transistor, Rogue Legacy, more (NA&EU)

Pie and Beans

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
Yakuza 4 is better than every other game ever released on this service combined.

MGR: Revengeance, Vanquish, Dragons Dogma, and Demon's Souls disagree just on PS3 alone, but its certainly up there with the best thats been offered.

The PS3 and Vita library long standing PS+ members have access to is preposterous. One day PS4 will get up to snuff I guess, but damn.

All you heathens who have not played AND LOVED Yakuza 4 have no excuse now. Play it, enjoy it, live it, bask in its glory and then come join the hype wagon with the rest of us who have been waiting for 5 to come to our unworthy shores forever now.

Some more AAA games. I obviously don't expect the available games to be that of the PS3 already, but how are Knack and Killzone not PS+ titles yet?

After 2014 I thought people would get over this need of "AAA". I thought we evolved past not accepting games that are good because their marketing budget demanded our attention. Broaden those horizons breh, be glad you aren't just getting one average 15 dollar game for free.

I've learned to always wait for PS Plus offerings once a game is on a deep sale. Especially indie and Vita games.

I really feel Sony should have some sort of rule regarding sales and PS+.

It's harmful for consumers and devs alike since the more this happens the more people will stop buying some games on sale because "they are probably arriving on Plus soon".

Contrary to everyone's opinion, I loved the games we got last month, The Swapper is an amazing puzzle game. This month sounds even more amazing! Thank u brother for sharing PS+ with me!

A good month for me as I only have Transistor & Rogue Legacy from that list although I do also have Thief on the PS4...which I quite enjoyed.

Had to check what Apotheon was, remember really wanting it when it was first shown so that's good news too. Yakuza 4 is the old western yakuza I've not played so that's really good, hopefully the others will appear at some point.

Apotheon seems cool, Transistor was a big disappointment to me. Don't know if I care enough about Yakuza to hook up my PS3 to try it out, solid month though.

Wow, not a bad month at all. I definitely like the big retail games, but anyone unhappy with this is either straight up shillin' or just has no taste.

Should be the same games for NA too since we've been getting the same games as EU for awhile now.

Amazing lineup though! Pumped for Apotheon, Transistor and Rogue Legacy. Still going to be people complaining about getting "crappy" indie games instead of getting actual crappy AAA games.

It's bizarre, but some people would actually prefer Knack instead of a quality game like Rogue Legacy or Transistor, purely because they have some kind of indies = garbage stigma in their head.

Transistor?! Dreams come true.

All games looks amazing. Yakuza 4 is must play to everybody who don't play, yet.
Thief on PS3? Maybe I should try it?
Rogue Legacy on Vita? I've heard many good opinions. Is it fine game, gaf? What kind?

Yup. PS Plus is devaluing indie games in my eyes. On one hand it's great because the games get exposure they wouldn't have otherwise and the developers to get paid for games on PS Plus. On the other hand, I've been trained to wait for indie games to hit PS Plus. As the market saturates and more and more indie games are fighting for PS Plus spots, many will get left out and their games won't be purchased at all. That's my fear at least.

Apotheon looks really neat. I hope this is true for the US as well. I already have Transistor but it'd be great for more people to get to play it.

Last month was great. Swapper was fantastic. First Light is solid. Duke Nukem is decent. Woah Dave was an alright little distraction. Prototype 2 was solid. DuckTales was worth it for the theme song alone even if the game itself was flawed.

I hope that we get Transistor in NA as well but I just bought it during the last Steam sale :(

I'd LOVE Rogue Legacy on Vita as well.

Great lineup!

What kind of game is Yakuza 4? I've always been mildly interested in the series, but I'd like to get into it. Like, what genre of game? Is there combat? If so, is it turn-based or real time? In my limited view of the games, I've never seen enough to tell what it really is.

I agree. I was actually going to buy Rogue Legacy at the latest sale (I think it was really cheap) but I thought "yeah, it might be on Plus soon and I can wait". So, on one hand I'm happy it is on the service but on other I think it's an harmful stigma.

I think if they set a limit like "A game can't be on plus at least x months after sale" it would give consumers some more confidence in buying those games. Of course they could still wait but at least they wouldn't get burned.

It's complicated and, for me that wanted these games but didn't bought them, it's hard to be mad but I don't think this is an ideal situation either.

None of those games are fit to wipe Kazuma's ass.

The fights are in real time. You see some Guys on the Street and when they bump into you, the fight will start. Bascially encounters. It's Open World, but not like GTA. You can't jump into a Car or shoot everyone on the Street. Give it a try man, it's a great game.
It's pretty much the new Shenmue. Really Storyheavy too.
