.. and still only a 23% catch chance. FU Pichu!

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Thats Pichu not Pikachu xD

Just got her/him, took me 3 attempts though.

Did Rusty or Steel Diver make money for Nintendo? I thought those were both pretty neat approaches.

I think steel driver has been getting regular updates, so at least they think it's something worth pursuing. No idea about Rusty, but I have a secret if Nintendo wants to make more money out of it:
RELEASE THE DAMN GAME IN EUROPE, YOU BASTARDS.

Also, has anyone tried tricking the game modifying the internal time in the console? Maybe it raises some red flags if you try the online component of the game, but it shouldn't be a problem for the main offline game, right?

I know completionist are not going to care, but
Mareep
(which you can obtain 4 stages after) it's the same type, has the same ability and has higher base attack at level 1 than Pichu at level 2. Might be worth it to build a stronger team before tacklig those low % pokemons. The pokemon at stage 14 has a 5%, I don't want to know how long it's going to take getting that one.

my god this avatar owns
I'll get my free Club Nintendo stars and then swiftly delete it. Kind of sad to see Nintendo making freemium trash like this but I suppose its an easy cash grab these days, especially with a license as popular as Pokemon.

On stage 140. Near the end now I think.

Then I have to catch them all. May be easier if you guys help actually. If you see any Pokémon on my list that I don't have ability/base power for, just message me and it'd be appreciated. Would save me some work haha.

Done up to stage 150. No further stages have opened up...yet...but there's stuff I'm missing like Mega Stones for a load of Pokémon.

I think honestly that ruins Puzzles and Dragons.
Cannot wait for the 3DS release. I am burnt out on timer games.

Yep, I am also super hyped for P&DZ (+ Mario Edition), loved the iOS version but after some weeks, I hit a wall and everything is super hard.
I would gladly farm/grind but then, stamina force you to wait/buy IAP.

May can't come soon enough.

Only done the first ten stages (maybe twenty minutes of gameplay), but I've been receiving a jewel that can be exchanged for five hearts both times I've run out of hearts so far. I imagine this generosity is going to end very soon.

Note to everyone: Don't even try the Mew event until you've got stronger Pokemon. Luckily it's there for a few weeks.

I managed to do it my first try on a 20% catch rate once I had Mega Audino lol

Really? I had the Mega Audino too but I just barely managed to take out half of its health.

I gotta admit, it's actually really satisfying when you catch a Pokemon in this game. Too bad it's satisfying for all the wrong reasons.

I just got him. I'm at stage 25 with 3 sinister type pokemons, not leveled up or anything. Managed to reach 56% or something, so it shouldn't be hard to get in 3 weeks.

So it sounds like I'm in the minority here, but I'm really enjoying the game! I only tend to play on my N3DS for 20-30 minutes at a time, so I guess it's perfect for me.

Same here, really digging it - leveling up my favorites over a long period will be fun.

Right. Here's how things run down for me so far after my first day of coverage

Money spent: 4800¥
Hearts purchased: 240
Coins purchased: 96000
Playtime: 12:45
Pokémon Seen: 153
Pokémon Caught: 92
StreetPasses: 3
Jewels Remaining: 12

With those 12 Jewels, I can get another 80 hearts and be able to catch many more Pokémon. Not too bad really.

yeah i really like puzzle games like this with no time limit on the piece movement, and I don't care about the stamina system

Did you get a jewel for each StreetPass, or just the first?

Yeah, some of the stages just seem like you won't be getting high rates at all. Pichu was another.
Hehe yeah.. I got Pichu on my 2nd attempt but got Torchic on my first try, even with only 5%.

Enjoying this quite a bit actually. I bought Link Battle in a sale last year and in some ways I prefer this - they aren't as similar as I thought they'd be.

I mean, it's Candy Crush, at the end of the day, but leveling stuff up is quite enjoyable and even though low catch rates are designed to make you spend money it's quite fun to catch something that seemed unlikely at first. I got lucky first time with the Torchic stage.

I've always thought these types of games charged way too much for "micro"transactions. If I felt like carrying on playing for a bit, I'd be ok with putting down 20-50p to replenish five hearts. But 90p gets me one heart, and the game just isn't worth the money. As it is I'm happy to just check in every few hours.

I don't think that's correct. 90p gives you one gem that you can exchange for 5 hearts.

Wait for the EX stages. They're brutal. You're lucky to get through them, and even then it's a 1% chance

I despaired when I saw that 1%, then laughed when the purchasable Great Ball brought it up to 2%.

It's annoying that the percentage is largely based on how well you do, and how well you do is certainly determined by luck due to how the playing field is designed and how you'll need to rely on big combos. I did finish an EX stage with 22% once, which doubled to 44% after using a Great Ball...

...which failed. Now I'm out of coins again, I don't have the patience for this.

Since there's no OT and there's more talk in this topic than the NA one... I'm really enjoying this actually, and I really wish there was a "buy once" option because I would pick this over Trozei easily if not for the stamina and IAP BS.

But on to my question... is there any point at which you can disable the annoying hint squares?
