Is that a mistake or is the clubsport wheelbase v1 also getting xb1 support?
Probably through new rim
The text is correct, it says "bases" are supported
I may presume the new rim will be needed though, purely for authorization purposes

It'd be one hell of a mistake to make. Must be correct?
Isn't the CSR the Forza Motorsport branded wheel? If so it's a bit weird that they're adding support for it on the PS4 since it has the xbox buttons.
Most of the wheels on the market uses the standard ABXY setup.
Yeah, the CSR Elite also has the Xbox guide button but I guess Sony does not care.
Yes!!! I think my theory just became reality!! ;-)
The force is strong with me 8D
It won't be long, the Logitech will offcourse be supported now. No way they are NOT supporting that.
I hope you're right. Not holding my breath but I won't cave in before GT7 puts the final nail on my hopes' coffin.
Of course it's a driver issue and Logitech stopped caring a long time ago.
How so? What if Fanatec paid Immersion? It's quite simple. Two things holding back support of legacy wheels:
- Immersion patent
- Security chip on PS4
With Fanatec now supported, both irrelevant!
when Fanatec wheels are in PS3 mode, they are seen as G25/G27, too bad the door doesn't swing both ways.
Fanatec specified on their blog that you don't need to put the Porsche wheel into Playstation Mode to work on PS4 which means that it's not using the piggyback G27 driver.
Doesn't the G27 have some kind of PC mode? I'm sure there are buttons you can hold when plugging it in (or something) that allow you to do things like set it's rotation and some other things. I'm sure one was for it to be seen as some different device.
?
I suspect I was mistaken. I thought there was some compat. mode, but it looks like it was just a wheel-based mode for setting the steering lock. Fuck. Was sure there was something else to it.Uh? I honestly never knew that. What's the purpose?
What pisses me off is that besides the pedals which I wish I could swap for something better and not just mod, I'm still 100% satisfied with the experience my G27 offers
Wait, so the Fanatec Clubsport wheel bases are 'supported' for consoles, but there are no actual steering wheels which are compatible with Xbox or PS4?

They confirm that you will need the special XB1 Rim for the clubsport base. It will be announced at a later date.
Works with current FANATEC wheels rims on PS4.
FANATEC Blog said:Please note that for Xbox One you still need to add a Xbox One compatible steering wheel rim while on the PS4 the wheels will work as they are and you don't even need to put them in PlayStation mode.
The first Xbox One steering wheel will be announced very soon.
Ahh yes, sorry. I was just reading from the P-Cars link provided and hadn't check the Fanatec page. That's a fairly critical missing piece of info on the P-Cars page if you're an Xbox owner.
Wonder how much Fanatec paid Sony?
Can't see Logitech doing the same.
I don't know if it was just the licensing fee, because Fanatec said they wouldn't have an issue paying it months ago.
Uh? I honestly never knew that. What's the purpose?

That's the reason piklock is saddened the driver doesn't go both ways in supporting the Logitechs when in Fanatec mode.
was hoping for some possible solution for logitec owners, even though i am not one, shame on me i guess.

So, your take is there was some exclusivity deal between Sony and TM preventing Fanatec from coming to the PS4?Have faith!

How were legacy USB devices supported in War Thunder, then?It is two layer security API to get access to USB from slave device.
How were legacy USB devices supported in War Thunder, then?
So... which Fanatec-owning fence-sitters here are now thinking of getting a PS4?
If pCARS reviews well and holds a rock-solid 60fps then I am gonna dive right in.
So, nothing has changed from what we've known for months: either a USB device is PS4 licensed (and embeds some kind of security chip) and it's supported at a system/SDK level, either it's not, but still can be supported through the legacy USB stack, as long as the developers bring the required support for it in their games.Game almost certainly have part of the software code that allows for such usages and access to USB.
In the same way how Hori sticks will be supported by SFV, or how Driveclub allows for T500 usage. Game almost certainly have part of the software code that allows for such usages and access to USB.
Or Guitar Hero devices.
Sony probably made a math which Microsoft failed to make in past 3 generations and realized how actual profit from "legacy hardware" owners will be probably much greater if they are allowed on this gen as well. Imagine the sway Microsoft could made if Forza3 and Forza 4 were supporting Logitech wheels.
My speculation above, of course.

Well, another small detail:
Dates are interesting.
It has been exactly 17 months since Thrustmaster has announced its deal with SCEE:
http://www.thrustmaster.com/en_UK/n...al-partner-sony-computer-entertainment-europe
And it will be roughly 18 months (give or take 10 days) when pCARS releases on PS4.
It was maybe an 18-month exclusivity deal for Thrustmaster for PS4.
On April 21st it will be exactly 18 month since above official partnership has been formally announced.
How is it smart? It's commercially smart thinking.....
Thrustmaster gets a deal as the first to announce it's support in the game.
This way they sell new wheels to users who are willing to buy a new wheel and want to be sure to be able to drive on day one.
I'll eat crow if they do.Logitech is surely to follow.
How is it smart?
I can't fathom why Thrustmaster hasn't bragged about its exclusivity deal with Sony, if they had one.
Telling gamers that their wheels would be the only option to play DriveClub (initially expected on November 2013) or Project Cars (initially expected on November 2014) with a wheel on a PS4 would certainly have helped them selling wheels more than remaining silent about this (possibly costly) exclusivity deal.
That's why I don't buy this, it just makes no sense.
I'll eat crow if they do.
18 months would seem odd, you would think deals would exist on a yearly basis.Well, another small detail:

Any chance a wheel will come out that can be used for both Xbox One and PS4? I don't want to buy two or have to choose.
So the pCARS delay was quite deliberate to synchromesh with this date...Well, another small detail:

I honestly never thought we would see this day. Let's just hope PD don't muck things up with a deal with Thrustmaster for GT7. I don't think they will though. GT Academy would be a crap shoot on the PS4 if Logitech AND Fanatec owners had to buy new wheels.
Outside of North America and Europe, Fanatec doesn´t really exist. I for once, never seen one of their wheels on sale.
I'm not sure you ever would - aren't they almost exclusively available mail order from Fanatec?
