People asking "Why. . ." have we not heard how The Witcher 3 has done? It's not surprising for other publishers to come looking to buy. I'm not sure I buy this rumor, but it's not out of the realm of possibility.

This has to be over a distribution deal right? Remember, Valve worked with EA to put out Left 4 Dead and Portal on consoles. Maybe The Witcher needs help internationally? Maybe GoG and Origin are going to team up somehow?

I just don't see why CDPR would accept getting bought out by EA.

Huh. I've never even thought about this. I mean this would be THE worst case scenario. Would be one of the most disgusting things to ever happen to the industry.

When you're going to post an article about a rumor based on virtually nothing, you got to make it a big one.

Didn't consider this. There's probably a bunch of stuff CDPR wants on GoG that EA owns.

Believe it or not, this wouldn't be the worst case scenario as EA would let them develop a few titles before killing them completely and devouring their souls. The worst case scenario would be CDPR bought by Activision. Just imagine, Call of Witcher: Modern Signfare 3.

I don't see how this is bad for CD Project

Its bad for gamers.

And of course it can be bad for them. How can it not?

Giving up total control and then being in the hands of a publisher.....and that publisher being EA of all companies.

Financially its possibly a good move for the shareholders, but that's it.

Think about it guys, this is the best news of the decade.
If EA acquires Bioware Poland (CDPR), Bioware Belgium (Larian) and Bioware California (Obsidian+inXile), this would mean we would be getting yearly Mass Effect and Dragon Age games, just like with Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed.
I mean, what's not to like about this?

I'd rather Konami buy them and use them for nothing except making Witcher themed Patchislot/Pachinko machines.

Good. If this means we get cyberpunk 2077 faster then im all for it. as good as cdp is they take too long and games still need too much patching to fix. At least with ea they will get better qa and manpower.

And nothing of value was lost.

This.
Witcher 3 on ps4 is a shitty port that never got fixed.
Maybe their next game with EA behind will at least be decent on ps4.

Ha ha, now we're going places.

Please, EA, fix CDPR, their game has framerate issues in a specific area on the PS4!

I rather EA than Activision, but seriously, why would CDPR do this? They make lots of money with their import business to Poland and TW3 was a huge success. So what? They don't have enough money to make their next crazy game? I doubt it.

Only thing that makes sense is that some business unit (other than the development of TW3) is sucking money out of company to such a degree they can't expand at the desired rate.

Maybe they want CD Red to make Star Wars RPG so give money to publish and distribution.

I seriously doubt it full takeover plus one random sauce to a random website.

Isn't GOG run by a separate division? Maybe they are just selling off the studio and keeping the GOG platform?
