Days Gone details, No Multiplayer, Dynamic day/night cycle, plus more

Where is the time stamp in the video OP?

They are still live, so it is hard. But currently, if you rewind about 2 hours and 45 minutes, that is when they are talking about Days Gone.

I dont know how to link to that specific time since it is still a live stream. Maybe someone else can help.

I'm really liking the World War Z movie style zombie hordes (hopefully this will be better than that shit movie) being chased by that could be pretty intense and sets it apart from being just another zombie game, looking forward to seeing more of this now

Hopefully next time will have the AI turned up, so we can see how aggressive the zombies are. Clearly the demo was just to show off the hordes because they didn't attack when they got close to the player.

With all the amazing other games announced at this year's E3, Days Gone struck a special nerve with me. It has that intensity that TLoU had but in a different way. Gameplay looked dynamic and chaotic but at the same time it was beautiful to watch the horde of zombies just piling up, bursting through door openings and windows. It was kinda like watching water flooding a sinking ship.

Can't wait to see more of this.

I'm not sure if this has been posted.

Extended gameplay preentation

Holy shit! Thanks!!!

I love the style and the setting of the game. But man, i HATE huge groups of fast moving enemies in games. This really killed all my excitement i had after the initial trailer.

From the Rooster Teeth Video, for the live gameplay demo, there were about 50 Sony Bend employees in the crowd watching (about half the studio). They were all on the edge of their seat hoping everything went the way they planned.

They did have a backup plan if things went wrong, a Plan B, but didn't have to use it. But there was one part, when he got up on the roof, where he was very very close to the edge of the roof and they thought he was going to fall off. So I guess it was pretty tense for all of them during that gameplay. I assume, falling off the roof = death.

This was huge for them as a studio, that stage, closing the show. They were all very excited, but very nervous. But it sounds everything went according to plan. So happy for them.

Thank you for the details!

Interested but don't want to give rooster teeth the views

Think of it as giving Sony Bend views.

* It was huge for their studio to be right up there on stage, getting prime focus, along with all of Sony's other big studios. It showed them how much Sony believes in their product. It meant a lot to them.

oooooooh that`s nice :)

Different route and mechanics.

This gives a much better look at what they're going for. I do wanna see what actually getting caught by the swarm looks like. Does one grab you and you end up just mashing square to get out while everyone else watches? Also what's the point in even shooting the horde of enemies when they seem endless and running is likely the smarter choice? Is it possible to actually kill all the zombies or is escape the only option?

Edit: he does seem to take out the initial swarm but obviously more show up at the end for dramatic effect.

Thank you for the link.

No multiplayer is good news. It's a risk, of course, but it'll mean they can concentrate on making the game as polished and great as possible, rather than having to spread their resources and time across different modes. The more that comes out the better this game sounds. Definitely on my personal "great reason to buy a PS4" list.

As enjoyable as that was, it only really added a little diversion and certain events were still exactly the same. I was hoping to see him leave that area entirely and just get away from the horde on his bike or via a different vehicle.
Its all about the bike I doubt any other vehicle is drivable.

I'll support Sony bend by buying the game

Sounds pretty neat

I really like the idea of this game, World War Z + TLOU I'd say. And it looks very interesting, even zombies are totally out. I dont care! Cant wait for more!!

I thought so...

Actually, this might be it. I remember reading it alongside information that said you could enter almost any building. I knew I should have quoted it so I could find it later...

Found the quote:

Featuring fully explorable environments and dynamic AI enemies, players will rely on their own abilities to strategize, craft weapons and tools, explore the world, and engage in combat. With almost every car, building and environment searchable, Days Gone delivers emergent gameplay possibilities, making a player’s approach to combat and discovery a vital part of the experience.

The game looked awesome. It's not often I get very tense from playing or watching a game, but this game really does it to me. The number of zombies on screen is just insane. The way they move is like living, breathing water. That was my favorite thing about Would War Z as well.

Game looks awesome, especially after watching that other gameplay video. What are they calling the monsters? Are they straight calling them zombies, or do they have some other weird name?

Mother of god. This gameplay demo was even crazier.
I'm Day 1 all of over this, already sold.

I was able to really appreciate the music in this demo. When I was watching it with my friends, there was a lot of talking over it. Wow, fantastic atmosphere!

Yeah I agree totally!
The music just ramps up sooo good when facing the horde freakers.

Freakers.

The game takes place two years after a global pandemic has killed almost everyone, but transformed millions of others into what survivors call Freakers – mindless, feral creatures, more animal than human but very much alive and quickly evolving.
