Yup. But you do have to agree that Xbox One and S are both very simple and clean looking console. No weird gaps or shape just for sake of it to look different.
Is there any engineering reason behind the gap and eraser shape of PS4? It always looked to me like some kid designed it to make it look futuristic. It does look cool though, but gets boring pretty soon. And has no functional benefit.
I do, and that's exactly why I think PS4 design doesn't qualify in simplistic list.
Old PS4
New PS4
take that how you will
New PS4
there really haven't been any credible rumors at all pointing to a release window for Neo. nothing's changedIs the belief the Neo isn't coming out this year anymore?
I like how sites like IGN and Polygon aren't banned for this shit but Dualshockers is and it's the only site to have properly credited Venom.
Dude it's not the matte that looks cheap, it's the design/texture of the plastic. The S is matte too but the plastic itself looks more premium quality. I prefer matte too but that plastic looks like the cheapest type that you could find.
I know Sony does its market research and all that but when I when I first saw this box about an hour ago my first thought was literally "$249". I hope that is their price point.
bet this uses literally the same wifi chipOnly way I will buy this is if the Neo is next year and this has 5ghz wifi.
I will never understand the sentiment "matte=toy". Do you REALLY want your surfaces to be *that* glossy?
I'm team real. I actually like this design better than the current one. Glad I waited to get a PS4.

249 is an excellent price point. Or atleast i think so. For the 500GB

It would be nice for it to cost that much. It's imo the perfect price for this console especially with the Neo coming out. If Neo is $400 and this is $250 is shows a distinct gap in the two.
Revised model is the entry level for the mass consumer market. Neo is for the enthusiast market but cheap enough for someone if they want to make the jump.
Close enough to make trade-ins a valuable route to a Neo as well.
The fidelity is far beyond what a 3D printer can do.If all the cuts (2 usb only, no optical, no UHD, cheap plastic) makes possible to release it at 249$... It's a HUGE win for Sony, they'll remain the cheapest new gen console on the market, and when you're already the most popular... it's huge. And it's still the most powerful console on the market, in front of an Xbox One S which, yes, can read UHD but for gaming is still underpowered (not a lot, I know, but it counts to people...) compared to the PS4.
And not a lot of people have a 4K TV, so the "4K" thing of the XO S won't matter much for people who want a new gen console, and possibly the most powerful and popular.
Even at 299 it would sell well, but 249 would be a big hit from Sony I think.
Anyway I think it's real but I have still doubts, for exemple:
- No optical out is very weird to me... It costs that much to put it? Even the cheapest PS3 has it... I mean even the PS2 and PS2 slim! Weird decision (and personally I need optical to get 5.1 on my old surround system, if I get through the TV it's not real 5.1)
- Only 2 usb is weird too (I guess that the port that looks like a USB in the back of the console is the PS camera port, if not it would be weird that you can't plug a PS camera to the PS4 slim since it's a must have for the PSVR...), I heard that the Chinese leak said 2 usb port (but maybe he though that the PS camera port was a USB, why not)
- A 3D printer can totally do that. The fact that the thing is physicaly real doesn't mean that real hardware is in it.
- And my biggest point, the one that makes me doubt (all the other ones are not that big) is WHY THE HELL the guy who has the console doesn't release a video of it? Booting a disc? Putting a disc in the tray? I mean even if you don't have a good camera, just a phone is ok and uploading on youtube if you don't use a very good quality is pretty fast... I mean this guy has a console that hasn't even been announced, it's almost a never seen before situation (it is?), how can you just sit there and "oh well, whatever"?! That's WEIRD to me, really.
But yeah I think it's real after all.
MS usually has a $50 pricecut around the holidays. Many peeps will be buying 4K tvs this christmas. Not saying it'll outsell, but they have a good reason why peeps may buy XBS over this.If all the cuts (2 usb only, no optical, no UHD, cheap plastic) makes possible to release it at 249$... I'm in #Teamreal but this simply isn't true.
Nobody is saying that, but it's bizarre they wouldn't add 4K and HDR when they sell HDTV TV's. The only thing I can think of is they had no idea that the X Slim would be 4K.
I'm not saying it is real, though it probably is, but 3D printers are not printing perfect PS2/PS3/PS4 matte/gloss finishes.Really? Since I've seen the "making of" of the NX fake I thought it can do that, but I have to admit I don't have any real knowledge about that.
Well then yes it's real, as I guess so... I just can't figure out why the owner of the console doesn't release more content about it, especially videos. And why the seller sold it only 350€ since he knew what it was (the page said "NEW PS4" or something, so he knew it wasn't a "normal" PS4), in a world when you can sell No Man's Sky 2000$ 10 days prior to the release... Imagine how much you can sell a new PS4 that hasn't been announced yet...
Oh, okay. Show me.I'm in #Teamreal but this simply isn't true.

I'm sad the light bar is gone. I might get one if this doesn't sound like a jet engine when my room gets hot.
I hate Sony revisions since the ps3, its been go cheap and improve nothing. Does this still have trash wifi? They never give more value with there slims like microsoft tries.. Sonys slims are usually less value than og versions... ps3 had ps2, vita had oled. I hope this system has many improvements other than power consumption and noise.
The bolded is what making me think that potentially this can be a fake. Anyone and everyone that has as PS4 or knows about it knows it can be loud. If you got your hands on a redesigned PS4 you would be posting video's of it running and telling people how loud it is compared to the original model. The pics make it look real, but again, not one video or pic or comment about how it runs just seems/sounds odd to me.
Finally got a look at those pictures on my computer. I gotta say it looks, pretty freakin slim compared to the OG PS4. That thing is than AF.
