What the hell is this? I didn't watch the Direct.

What is a Splatfest? From what I can tell in this thread, it's just an arbitrary vote on which waifu is better for five hours.

Splatoon 2 was on sale for like 46 bucks on amazon, right? Does the prime discount then apply to that to get 20% off of 46 to get the game for around 37?
Edit, NVM it doesn't stack.

Nope. Only Best Buy GCU will take your 20% discount off of sale prices. Amazon will give you 20% off of MSRP up to launch and for 2 weeks after.

Like holy crap.

I don't think I've seen a "waifu war" where a character has been OUTCLASSED this critically and horribly.

Like Nintendo sent this Pearl design to its doom.

I love ice cream cake.

Don't care how old I get. I love it.

Definitely going to try out the demo. Other people in my gaming circle played and liked Splatoon, but I never played it. This will be my first chance.

Even if people like Pearl, I feel like none of them are going to speak up at this point. I feel bad for them that they'll feel ostracized.

Splatfest lets you pick a side in an argument (Cake vs Ice Cream, Cats vs Dogs, Callie vs Marie) and then you play Turf War paired up with people who picked the same side as you. These are events that are region locked, and last for 24 hours. You can rank up based on how many points you get (more points for winning) Cake Defender, Cake Champion, Cake King etc.

In the first game, you got currency for upgrading your gear (which they've removed from this game). So I'm not sure how they do that.

The whole hub changes for the Splatfests, the stages change (from day to night with glowing ink), and it looked awesome. It always felt like an event.

A friend of mine described Pearl as "someone who has probably been caught stealing zebra curtains from KMart" and I can't stop thinking about how accurate that is
