Hanging like blackened teeth from the roof of the cave's mouth, the sea of bats angrily disperses as the Batwing roars through the interior waterfall of Batman's clandestine headquarters. The Batcave is a much larger expanse than the miniature proxy installed beneath Arkham Asylum in the first game. Iconic vehicles stand like trophies on raised platforms, his wardrobe emerges from the thick metallic walkways - enabling player's to switch bonus costumes between missions - and every inch drips with canny references placed for the eagle-eyed - which, aside from a glimpse of a newspaper cutting of the Red Hood spotted in Gotham, proves GamesTM certainly is not. But it also serves as a practical base for Batman to upgrade equipment and polish abilities. The most notable addition being Challenge Maps, a separate feature of previous entries , now accessible from the Batcave.

Batcave has me insanely hyped, was my most wanted thing for this game. I love how it sounds like how it's acting like a proper 'hub' for your Batmanning.

Seems like the Batcave is mostly filler. A place to do things that you'd do from the menu in past games.

Still looking forward to the game though since I'm a sucker for them. The head of Hulk/Prototype working on this helps too.

Awesome, hopefully the PC version will be as well optimized as the PC version of Arkham City was.

edit: I didn't know that the game ran badly with DirectX 11 stuff turned on. You can stop quoting this now.

Holy shit, for real? This might just be the best Batman game ever...

I was a bit concerned that Rocksteady wasn't doing this one but I'm getting more and more comfortable with it after every new news/media release.

Should be since they're still building on the core of the past 2 games. I'm hoping with the experience of Hulk and Prototype that he can find cool new ways to improve the game over Rocksteady's.

Besides DX11 running at 0fps at launch, having GFWL and the game chugging a lot thanks to using UE3 in an open world you mean?

really? Hulk was average and Prototype was total and utter garbage, this is actually bad news.

Prototype 1 was way more fun than Infamous 1 and Crackdown when it came out. Not an amazing game but the core mechanics were way more fun to use.

You're insane. Hulk was amazing and Prototype still offers one of the best open world super powered experiences of all time.

Here's hoping, this has just gone to the the top of my most anticipated titles of the year with this news.

Fuck out of here.
Hulk still is a blast and was way ahead of its time. Protype is awesome and got shit on since it released around the time Infamous released. It had awesome ideas like possesing guards and you felt like a killing machine super villian taking on the world. Both are some of the best comic book action games ever made. Great News!!!!

Suprisingly not a lot hype surrounding this game. Maybe everyone was anticipating a next-gen port.

It's been a rough year for prequels. God of War Ascension and Gears of War Judgement were extremely average games at best. But I still think this type of game lends itself to prequels and side stories way better than those. After all comics frequently jump around and change stories up. To me it all comes down to how well they'll be able to create events, challenge rooms and Riddler challenges.

I didn't even realise this wasn't getting a next-gen port until a couple of weeks ago. Was planning on buying it on PS4.

Now I don't know if I should go PS3 or Wii U.

in another parallel universe maybe, Infamous destroys Prototype in combat, city design and story and Crackdown shat all over prototype in it's platforming and upgrading system, Prototype 1 was unbalanced, repetitive and rushed mess.

It comes out between GTA V and next gen consoles

It might as well not exist.

A lot of people are sticking with this gen a while longer. I'm pleased with the quality PS3 360 games at least Microsoft didn't kill of 360 like they did OG XBox & Nintendo did the Wii.

This guy gets it. It wasn't the best game ever made, but it suffered for being released so close to Infamous. The traversal and combat were both far more interesting in Prototype.

Stop being so wrong. It might rub off on the more impressionable posters.

1080p screens

third one look like something from Dead Space, I just wish they went all the way and make Bruce thinner (they are copying the Batman Mask from the movies after all) this bodybuilder type Batman belong to the comics.
