You know what, it doesn't really matter how the DNC responds to this, they're going to riot no matter what happens at this point. Fuck em.

Just ignore him, he's not gonna give any ground even though he's justifying what is objectively baseless fuckery

I know, I'm just in utter disbelief. I mean sure, Bernie might be ignorant on some things, and we can debate till the night falls and whatever else, but it felt all in good politics and rigor. I felt he was trying to have a positive message. This is just, a level of low I'd never expect.

Sanders is basically saying hey DNC remember Nevada, remember the chaos and harassment and death threats?

Give me what I want or I'll bring that on a national scale.

Which is especially egregious after CNN uncovered this bullshit:

But new audio obtained by CNN shows a senior Sanders aide -- on the eve of the Nevada convention -- encouraging the senator's supporters try to "take it over," apparently referring to the event, change party rules and continue the "revolution" that Sanders has long campaigned on.
"This is your state," Joan Kato, the national delegates director, told Sanders supporters at a meeting to prepare for the convention. "This is your party. This is your opportunity to take it over and for you guys to have an influence that will last way beyond the campaign. And I think that's what the political revolution is all about."

I'm seriously curious as to what kind of mental gymnastics will be involved when Bernie's supporters try to defend this.

So far I count one person saying it was "Good" with no justification, which speaks volumes really.

If the democrats could stop the infighting, let Hillary focus on the general and delivering good downticket results to secure a healthy margin in the senate, then and only then will you see progress for liberal causes. Hillary will without a doubt go as far left as she can once she's in office.
Eh. I like Hillary a whole lot, but what "left" means isn't exactly clearly defined. I expect her to be a lot more left than her detractors think on things like education and social justice issues, but she's probably not going to be the most liberal economic figure

I am legitimately getting more and more worried about the DNConvention as the days go by. This could get real ugly, real quick.

Exactly. He's already made that bed. Hire a lot of security and let the shit hit the fan. Maybe the PR damage is fixed by the election, maybe not but this is he path Sanders has chosen and further capitulation will not help short of giving him the nomination.

I have been one saying that Bernie was using his support to position for more power within the party (as a relative newcomer to the Ds). I thought he was taking the fight to the established party all the way to the convention in order to keep his base rallied and use it as a platform. Now I'm kinda confused as to his end game. He is just burning bridges at this point.

How strange, yet interesting to watch.

Why on earth would he want to get rid of Barney Frank? Can't wait until this guy becomes yesterday's news.
Because he said some mean things about him back in the 90's when he tried pulling a stunt not unlike this, and apparently seems to hold quite the grudge over that. Unfortunately, it seems Donald Trump isn't the only candidate with very thin skin and an ego that's much too large.

So disappointed in myself for ever supporting Sanders'. Very unfortunate the way this had all turned out. :(

Oh also fuck off Bernie with this bizarre feud with Barney Frank, a figure who on paper is one of the staunchest ideological allies you can find in this fucking country

Good. Sanders, his campaign, and his supporters should do everything in their power to fight and disrupt the DNC and the Hillary campaign.

Your country needs a political revolution. It would be a poor revolution if they just gave up.

Even if it won't change the result, these things have impacts that last into future elections and generations. i.e. "What we do in life echoes in eternity".

I went from disagreeing with Sanders but respecting him to thinking he's a giant self-centered piece of shit in no time at all.

It's amazing how a year can change someone's opinion. I went from liking Bernie Sanders, to being indifferent, to now just wishing he would go away and stop.

At this point I really feel Barney Frank's 1991 assessment of Sanders was 100% correct.

"His holier-than-thou attitude - saying in a very loud voice he is smarter than everyone else and purer than everyone - really undercuts his effectiveness"

"To him, anybody who disagrees with him is a crook; there are no honest disagreements with people. Bernie's view of the world is that the great majority of people agree with him on all the issues and the only reason he does not win is that the Congress is crooked"

Contrary to popular belief US is doing pretty all right.

Yeah, destruction of the one legitimate path to progressive legislation when the opponent is an overt fascist calling for white supremacy and isolationism is just so damn fascinating, right?

Christ I'm starting to regret having voted for him back in march. Of all the things he's done since then I don't see how anyway can say this isn't acting like an absolute child/sore loser.

Talk to me about being all right when you have things like Universal Healthcare that the rest of us enjoy.

Sorry, what country do you live in?

That i agree with!

It's an important difference. Call it petty, unnecessary, sore loser. Cant disagree. But Trump esque is not accurate.

I would actually say that this is worse because this is coming from a person who should understand that his actions have repercussions due to being a politician for many years. Bernie is a classic "I want to be right rather than get it right" type of person.

I said this earlier today.

Eh, that was rhetoric being spewed by Cruz and Kasich though, hoping for a brokered convention. Trump on the other hand was threatening to go 3rd party if he wasn't candidate(Which is in line with threatening to halt the convention if Sanders doesn't get his demands, IMO).

Fuck right off with that shit. Easy for you to say "let the streets burn in that other country that's not mine". I'm not even American, and your post angers me.

Yep, it'll ensure that the DNC never lets another democratic socialist like Sanders get a platform for a generation or two.

So much for a revolution.

Trump is going to win, isn't he? Or will the Democratic party stop fighting itself before we're doomed?
The Democratic Party isn't fighting itself. They let a supposed independent ally run and he is trying to start a violent revolution to placate his own ego. Spinning this as a problem with the party is exactly the kind of cover that has let this jackass get as far as he has.

Is is amusing that this move just proves Barney Frank right.

Well, it would be amusing if the GOP did not just nominate a White Nationalist.

Why does a revolution need to be violent in your mind? Some of the greatest political revolutions in history have been non-violent.

Sanders is pushing for a political revolution where it's not about establishment politics and down tickets and corporate interests, but empowering the individual voter to push the agenda of the representative. That goes past party lines.
