AltHero, the alt-right's new favorite superhero comic

The amount of Terrible Alternative History fanfiction from this will be glorious at least for me personally.

Not paying for any of it though so I'll just have to stick with overviews, but damn if the premise alone isn't silly enough already.

Can't wait for the arc where all the male superheroes have the figure out which one is the daddy of Rebel's kid. I mean, if we're going full hillbilly with the character.

Vox Day being a Native American Nazi is still v confusing.

I don't understand why people of color who hate women decide to try to fit in with the Nazis. I mean... You know they want you dead, right?

Technically Nazis wanted mostly other white people dead, while they had no problem cooperating with some people of color. But today neo-nazis don't really have a clue who original nazis were.

That's because alt-right aren't Nazis. They're just racist idiots without any sort of ideology other than "White is right."
Kind of tired of people calling alt-right idiots Nazis, because it downplays what actual Nazis did - murder ruthlessly millions of innocent people - and instead puts the label on pathetic man children who walk around insulting black people.

Stop underestimating angry people, America.

"They are not nazis, they only joke about gassing people"

Besides they've already killed and they will do it again.

And murder people by running them down. Or shooting them. Or stabbing them. Or beating them.

Marvel or DC should create a parody of this comic, before it (if it ever does) launch. Just people brainstorming ideas in this thread, is already hilarious and there is so much room for a great parody. Especially if they use real life quotes or believes as base for the comic. Like Alt Hero investigating Pizzagate, finding the kid actors of the fake Sandy Hook shooting, uncovering the plot of liberals to take away all guns, Obama actually being part of the ISIS, finding Hillary's missing Emails, etc.

With a good comedic writer that could be really fun.

I'm not saying they're good people, but they're a loosely organised group of individuals, in a relatively hostile nation. Not an entire country mobilised to a specific task.

Also, let's not compare killing a few people to genocide.

I know I won't get anywhere on gaf with the opinion that actual Nazis were way worse than what you guys call Nazis now, so I'll drop it.

Thinking that they’re not as bad as the real OG is just giving people an excuse to play down their threat.

That thugg idea sounds so amazingly dumb. I would totally pirate that for the absurdity of it all lol.

On topic: scumbags truly got nothing better to do?

Excited for the issue where the hero dressed in a costume based on the Confederate flag tells NFL players to respect their flag and country.

You said all they do is insult black people.

You're so, so wrong.

How about we comprise? They aren't Nazis, but they wish they were.

I feel like any time you set out to write a story with the stated intention of “I’m going to use this to spread my ideology” you’ve already failed at writing a compelling story before page 1.

That’s how Doug TenNapel and Orson Scott Card and so on get away with being shit people, you don’t see Earthworm Jim breaking the plot to filibuster liberal overreach in America.

Okay, so, yes, this is absurd and completely embarrassing.

But I want to focus on something else:

What the hell is FreeStartr.com?

Wait.

Oh my god, is this a Kickstarter for the alt-right?

ROFL.

But this isn't true 1984 for example was explicitly written by a Socialist as a warning about the perils of Communism, and it's regarded as a literary classic. It's the ability to turn your message into a suitable analogy rather than merely rephrasing your manifesto that can allow spreading your ideology to still be a compelling story.

(And lest people think I'm picking the only book to make my argument here's a few others: Gulliver's Travels , basically the entire body of work of Dickens and Wuthering Heights )

You make a good argument. The better point would be that if you're trying to write a book to send a message that isn't true to life that it's highly likely to suck. 1984 and Animal Farm were about as subtle as a sledgehammer, but then so was Stalinism, and they landed because that was the story that needed told.

Given that these folks are operating in a fantasy world, their attempt to tell stories that resonate fall flat because there's no truth in the message they're trying to send.

I cannot express how horrified I am by the comic, the site or that these little shitheels have the ordacity to claim they are in any way fighting anything.

I'd rather not wait for Neo-Nazis to do what actual Nazis did before I compare them. The difference between Neo-Nazis and the Nazis is that the Neo-Nazis know about the atrocities already before they decide to throw their hat in. The fact that Neo-Nazis haven't done anything on the level of Nazis may simply be a result of them not having the opportunity to do so yet, and frankly, it's better that they never do.

Also, you can see EU guy is evil because he knows smoking is unhealthy

Let me guess... the villains will all be negative stereotypes of minorities.

Too obvious and not part of their playbook. The villains will be white or Jewish people who are defending minorities who will be presented as too weak and slovenly to defend themselves.
