Yeah, it's a real bummer. I never got to play the first but I am massively excited for this one.
It seems like most of the fans of the first game are ignoring it after the tech test despite there only being positive news since then.
Probably because the changes they made for the core game just make it feel like the first game was the better game.
I for one absolutely hate that Titans are like Hero characters now instead of being able to customize them to your liking based on different Titan archetypes.
Also hate the new battery system for Titan shields.

Several people at the PC capture event have said those two changes made Last Titan Standing a much better mode.
Good for them! Personally those changes put me off from the game so *shrug* I also see a lot of people agree with my sentiments so..
I'll probably redbox the game for a few days and wait for a Black Friday sale to buy it at $30 or less.
Looks like it's just gonna be me and you playing it.

It was my call.
Builds for press events take weeks to put together. This is the same build we put together for Gamescom, which was branched from the Tech Test itself. After we finished Tech Test build and this build I looked at our development schedule and decided we didn't have the time to ship the game and make additional one-off press event builds. I told PR/marketing depts that this is the build they need to use for any events they want us to show at. We also took it to EGX and TGS over the last couple weeks and I wouldn't be surprised to see it pop up again before release. Pretty standard issue, unfortunately. As a game is finishing dev tons of marketing/press opportunities come up with no dev time to give to support. C'est la vie! I can barely watch this build, so many old bugs and issues

I think the gameplay for the campaign would be great from the clips I've seen. The concept of the pilot/Titan buddy cop story is also brilliant.
My main gripe is the overall narrative which comes off as bland. Their cinematic trailer could be used to expand the world and the story but all it did was to show off how super awesome Pilotman is. Which is insane because as a sci-fi game you can do tons of stuff with it.
If the first game's "multiplayer campaign" was any indication, I'm not holding my breath.

That's a shame, it must be extra jarring for the streamers too who got to do internal testing with that PC build we saw.

Just waiting for any UK deals for the Xbone S, but otherwise I'll just get it digitally.

The adversity surrounding the development of Titanfall severely gimped the final product, but this time around they aren't dealing with any of that stuff so I have high expectations for it. Btw, if you haven't read Keighley's 'Final Hours' piece over Titanfall I highly recommend you do.
I said a lot of bad things about the tech test but literally everything I have seen since is getting me hyped up again.

I mean in terms of the story of the campaign only.
And people were getting mad at me for saying less than 1 percent of the Titanfall population ever played the game properly like that. He's a good player, but no better than the regulars that continue to play the original game.
I hope with the easier mechanics, and the slide hopping that everyone on console will be a bit better this time around.

Slide hopping is dumb and not many average players will be able to do it with a controller.
Can confirm. It is a nightmare to do it without an elite. On default layout you have to do it with A+B / X + Circle, I mean who the hell plays like that. Even on bumper jumper it is LB+B / L1 + circle, far from optimal.

Evolved puts crouch on the right stick. Didn't seem overly difficult in the tech test.
