Do people not realize that when you vote in a primary you're actually voting for delegate representation? Not the candidate? And the established political norm for those delegates is to represent how their constituencies voted but they don't fucking have to?

You're in a state and your state has 60 delegates, your state's primary goes in favor of Candidate A and those 60 delegates show up at the convention and go, "Hey, our state voted in favor of candidate A so we're going to nominate Candidate A!" But delegates can also go, "Our state voted for Candidate A but fuck that we want Candidate B so we're going to nominate Candidate B!!!"

Which is exactly what the Republican Party is currently wrestling with as the RNC leadership does not Trump as their nominee and the possibility of a brokered convention is continually gaining traction.

If I remember my convention rules right, the delegates can only change their votes after the initial ballot. In the first vote they have to go with what their state decided, after that it's all up for grabs if no consensus is reached.

Neither do I. She's one of the two or three best debaters among the Democrats right now, and the best one currently running. There's never been any need to rig the debates in her favor because they've always been her's to lose.

It's really unfortunate for Sanders that the middle east is still a mess. His best bet was his economic message moving forward. With a good chunk of the discussion being the middle east, he is severely hampered.

I think that's a great challenge for him to have to overcome as a candidate. His domestic message is his greatest strength, definitely, but to have the big job he's got to establish his Commander in Chief vision and temperament just as well.

Otherwise whats to stop him by being tested and taken advantage of by not only other world powers after his election, but also our own military industrial complex who could try to force him into conflict?

Its why I'm not happy with this whole idea of Hillary's coronation. We need to strengthen candidates and their messages through this process, and have backups in place in case the world throws u some surprises, which is something the world just fucking loves to do. So I want some real primary challenges and some real debates.

I have to admit that I really hate this kind of response. I'm not a Republican and I have ignored the Benghazi hearings but there is still an abundance of things to dislike about Hillary Clinton.

I also think it is all too obvious that she has taken advantage of hysterical and idiotic Republicans so that opposition can be compartmentalized as 'republican fear mongering' and then discarded.

I'm not fond of Hillary. I'm voting for her out of sheer pragmatism. Bernie has no chance and a cynical middle of the road corporatist democrat is exponentially better than anything the Republican Party has. But Hillary is one of the most scrutinized and campaigned against politicians in history and all they've got on her is fake Benghazi, the sleaze of her husband's sex life and a couple of stupid boasts.

I'm surprised she's as clean as she is. Perfect is the enemy of "OK I guess."

That'll be a while, and we may be neck deep in problems. Assuming it takes us thirty years, technological unemployment could very easily become a mainstream issue and the generation above us may have some shitbrained answers to it, like job guarantees or laws against technology.

Could our healthcare model even last that long, either? It's still absurdly expensive, and for some people, the ACA has done them no favors in that regard. Hillary calls it a "glitch" but I call it a trend. And let me make clear shade at the ACA doesn't mean we had a working model before; this works more, but I wouldn't dare call it stable.
