Yeah, but that started happen later on in the show. If the show had had likable, reoccurring female characters from the beginning, it might have turned out differently. Now any woman on the show is hated viciously (except the gay one, she's cool) because it gets in the way of the TRUE LOVE of the main characters.

I think Ralph has me on ignore, but here's a more detailed explanation as to why women write fanfiction:
Porn. We don't have porn that really caters to us. You guys have kink? You can literally find a video of random people preforming said kink easily online. Women, however, tend to be more emotionally invested in their porn. Seeing two people fucking is hot, sure. But the emotional investment isn't there. Who are these people? How did they meet? Why do they like food so much? So creating porn with characters they already know and love fills that niche. Even romance novels fall short, cause most of them are crap.
In that regard, Omegaverse and other weird fanfic tropes are no more freaky than rosebud or scat porn or watersports or whatever weird shit porn produces. /shrug

- Organize a scam con and ruin people's weekends? Not cool.
- Become a weird deluded follower of a media franchise to the point where you send threatening letters to people involved because you don't like them and lose your grasp on reality in the process? You should probably get that checked.
It's not that hard really. People should subscribe to my philosophy.

I don't usually care about people doing this, but something about the Frozen groups that do this get annoying. I think its because I have a sister myself and like the parts of the movie dealing with the sisterly relationship.

I guess this omegaverse stuff is the result of women not getting their male gay fix in entertainment media compared to men with lesbians. All that unrequited projection. And the mpreg stuff because they want men to have a taste of what they go through. All while they're the more creative gender so their imagination runs wild.

Slash alone has been doing that since the days of Star Trek, but omegaverse hits a lot of different kinks for women I guess. It's not my thing, but it's obviously popular. Mpreg is also not my thing (there is nothing sexy about childbirth, I've done it, and raising kids isn't romantic, IMO) but I think it's more to do with the want to have characters act 'caring' and the childish idealization many young girls have of becoming mothers.

Regular guy porn can be weird too. Girl on girl is INSANELY popular in male porn. Just as slash fanfiction is insanely popular in fandom. And just as some of the weirder stuff people will watch but never actually want to do themselves, it's the same in fanfiction. I bet some of the more popular tropes would blow you guys away, but actually make a lot of sense when you dig deeper.
