With it going gold it'll be pretty embarassing if our first footage of gameplay comes from a leaked copy of the game instead of ND.

Wow, not sure why I couldn't catch the frame rate drops when I played it, guess I was too engrossed with the game!

Depends on how you play it. Once you get around 5 characters in an enviornment, that's when it gets truly noticeable. But that of course means you'll have to play it higher difficulties to force you into those scenarios.

If the game is truely 40gb big, not having the possibility to pre-load will be a bitch.

Expecting it to be more like 50+ GB and yea not being able to preload def gonna be a real biach.
I was thinking of going physical again to match my ps3 steelbook but the digital is sooooo cheap in my region (Malaysia). Around 35 USD. Cheapest i've seen anywhere really and makes me feel so much better for doubledipping.

Anyway is there gonna be a steelbook for ps4?

I think it's inevitable now. They are releasing nothing and waiting for the streamers to show it off and to creep into release like Rockstar..

The IDEAL thing for me would be if they took one of the sandbox combat moments early in the game, that isn't story rich and stays spoiler-free, and just played through it a couple of ways, showing the fluidity, the dynamism of the AI, all the goodness, and then uploaded HQ links for the vids for people to enjoy the 60fps joys.

We only want to see it playing. I don't want to see mass pre-order cancels because of a jerky LQ stream doing the selling. But I can understand the bind they feel about showing what is already known, and being able to convey the change in quality. I think anyone watching a TRUE HQ link is going to get it immediately though..

^ Well its supposed to be an amazon.de exclusive. Did you see it online or do you live there and saw for yourself?

I dont understand why they haven't released anything yet. Unless they'r so utterly confident in what they've achieved that they feel its not necessary to do so?
I dunno. But if thats the case, well they'r doing a huge disservice to themselves.

Something just popped in my head. Wouldnt Sony be badgering them to release a video??

It's going to be bigger. The PS3 version was about that big and most of that size was the pre-rendered 720p 30fps cutscenes... which are now re-rendered to 1080p 60fps. Unless they employ some damn good compression techniques, Remastered is going to be massive.

Depends on if they are pre-rendered or real-time now. Real-time will bring the cutscene sizes down significantly. I know that's what they aim for in U4.

The cutscenes are DEFINITELY pre-rendered. Real-time is not happening.

Damn. If TLOU on PS3 was around 40 GB's according to Bladwin (few posts above), I shudder to think of how mamooth TLOU:R's gonna be.
Just hope ND work their magic and manage to do some major loco compressing eh

Out of curiosity, how many of you opting for digital?

"hello?" "this is vagina"
I wonder if, due to compression, cutscenes in TLOU PS4 will look slightly worse than the 1080p real time rendering.

I hope it's not like in most PC games where the switch to cutscene comes along with a noticeable drop in clarity.

I wouldn't say definitely. If you look at this gif from the ps4 trailer you can clearly see the tire of the car come into view as he moves toward the screen. This was not in the ps3 version and it is not a normal thing to have a object pop in like that in a pre-rendered cutscene. Now it is possible to do and yes it could be pre-rendered, but I have faith in the Naughty Gods and hope it is real-time.

Jesus christ.

They've CONFIRMED the cutscenes are re-rendered in 1080/60fps.

They said they are struggling to fit it all on one Blu-ray disc because of the increased file size.

Not weird. Same for me. It was a sublime game, you stayed with the playstation universe, and now you get a chance to do it all again with more horsepower. Who wouldn't?

After all the pump of E3, it wasn't until they announced Remastered was happening that I finally felt happy putting my PS3 out to pasture. I HAD to be able to continue playing this game. Multiplayer mostly as with you..

Unbelieavable. Bigger than 40gb is madness.

PSN needs to fucking beef up their servers already then. My Watch Dogs and Wolfenstein downloads took forever, and it's not an issue on my end.

Me. Luckily I upgraded my HDD to a 1TB recently, lol.

I've always had full dld speeds on psn. Either a prob with the servers in your region/area or perhaps your router config needs some tinkering?

USA West Coast, all recommended ports are forwarded, NAT Type is reported as 2 in the connection test and COD Ghosts reports the NAT as being open.

At a time that is as far from peak hours as possible in my insomnia I just got a 40.5 Mbps speed in the download test, my connection is 100 Mbps+

When the rest of civilization is not sleeping I routinely get sub-20 Mbps here on PSN. Meanwhile on my XBOne and every other device I use, they get full use of my connection. And yes I am hardwired with all of my devices.

Like I said, it's not an issue on my end.
