Wrong. Compared to the 360/PS3 versions it was a huge upgrade. Textures were much better (but not as good as the best PC version textures), anti aliasing was much better, framerate was much better, foliage looked much better and was fuller, wind physics for foliage and other stuff, better weather effects, much better particle system, better shadows, new Lara model with TressFX... - it was a real next gen worthy jump.
While TLOU R looks just to be just the PS3 version in 1080p and 60 frames with better ingame models.
What does that even mean?
I played it for several hours already.
Just the idea of having it at 1080p and 60fps is enough to me. I don't need anything else.
My desire of seeing it before playing is just out of curiosity.

Yup, that's exactly what it is, bar some minor touchups that people may not really notice. Anyone expecting much more is going to be disappointed, but IMO that res and framerate bump is justification enough for this.

What I'm saying is that if that's what we're expecting, why do we have any reason to worry? I wasn't saying that as a complaint. I mean, come on, the game isn't even full retail price and it's a better-looking version of one of the greatest games of the last generation. Really hard to have any doubt that this will be an amazing outing.

It's been done thousands of times already, but sure, I'll bite.
There has been quite some discussion on the cutscenes, but even more discussion on how they're not a good comparison. It mainly boils down to: 1) it's a prerendered cutscene, so the changes seen won't be as large as gamplay comparisons. 2) It's from YouTube. Heavily compressed. Tons of details lost. You cannot compare a YouTube video to anything and then say "there is no difference."
Yes, there hasn't been any PS4 gameplay footage yet. There is tons of PS3 gameplay if you're concerned about the actual gameplay part of things. If you're just wondering about the graphics part of things, we're all anxious for that.

Also, slightly related, but have you ever been in a Driveclub thread? I ask because it is clear that Driveclub is going to be the best looking driving game, yet Sony PR only releases small bits and pieces every 2 months or so. It's clear fans want more, and maybe the developer even wants more, but PR has the ultimate say, sadly.

Haha! Right? I've never been the biggest advocate of Naughty Dogs (generally their games just aren't really my thing), but I find it implausible to even suggest that they don't pour their heart and soul into every game they make. There is nothing for anyone to worry about, and I feel confident in saying that this re-release of a 2013 title will be in serious contention for 2014 Game of the Year honors from just about every media outlet.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about The Last of Us Remastered Thread culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like Xbox Live Arcade where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in The Last Of Us Remastered Thread, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.
What this means is the people that haven't played The Last of Us, after hearing about this, are not going to want to purchase The Last of Us Remastered for ANY system, nor will they purchase any of Naughty Dog's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but The Last of Us Remastered Thread posters have alienated an entire market with this move.
Antitrop, icespide, RoboPlato, and GribbleGrunger publicly apologize and cancel your pre-orders or you can kiss your business goodbye.

That's the reason I skipped the entire game on PS3. I've seen all of 3 minutes of gameplay when my brother was playing it, and still haven't had anything big spoiled for me. My first time experiencing basically the entire thing will be in glorious 1080p.

I'm in the same boat, though I did play a little bit into the PS3 version...maybe like an hour or so. Still, not really enough to know much. I'm super excited to see how good the game looks at 1080p/60fps, given that I was already amazed by what I saw on PS3.
