Microsoft moved their Xbox 360 production titles to Xbo, which made them have a few noteworthy launch window exclusives like Dead Rising 3 and that shootem up ala pz.

The best console to play videogames on is a PS4. I think that could almost be said as a fact, unless you need XBO'S first party stuff.

Both are games consoles, one runs games significantly better than the other.

And games that are forced parity are not an indication that Xbox One is somehow catching up.

But, Microsoft invented DirectX so Sony is going to be in a perpetual state of flux regarding taking advantage of the system and it's power while Microsoft will continually improve the console to match the PS4's increased abilities.*

Sold my PS4 cause the exclusives don't intrigue me one bit. Blood borne being the only exception currently. The interface also feels more social, more alive on the bone.

Still, easy for me to switch since I have a decent PC to cover me on multiplatform games. Not to mention a Wii U for Nintendo's fabulous exclusives. Going this route leaves me with what I feel is the best in class for specific categories. Where as PS4 only leads in console visuals (which is a silly race to me).

I bought my PS4 because it was $100 cheaper than the competition. And so far the exclusives are no where near what I want. Been playing on PC mostly because like you said gamers care about specs.

I've been playing my Xbone every day while I played my PS4 for five days straight when I still thought Destiny was worth playing and I think I played Infamous once... I really can't wait for some great PS4 titles to come out, but right now I'm all about that Sunset Overdrive...

As for the debate, of course PS4 is more powerful, but I enjoy the Xbone's UI more. Of course, that's just an opinion. PS4 is more sleek, but the Xbone looks pretty sexy as well. For me, it just comes down to exclusives mostly. Right now, Xbone has the better exclusives, IMO. I can play most multiplats on my PC, so why bother with a PS4/Xbone version? The PS4 may beat the Xbone, but my PC dwarfs both.

Oh, and none of my friends have PS4. All of them have the One, which I still think is kinda strange.

This is half the truth but what bugs me is, I don't know if people who make these comments believe that everyone on the face of the planet (casuals) are less tech savvy and are completely blind to specs. In the day an age where having a smartphone with the best specs matter, it's not unusual for people - a huge majority to care about specs. In others words, yes, the general public knows what specs are and they can sometimes tell the difference. It goes alot into their buying decisions.

Now people who are custom to consoles will either purchase...

1) The better console in terms of picture quality
2) The console their friends own
3) The console that they want personally

These comment make it seem like people are stupid. If one thing is for sure, casual people aren't buying PC just for more quality when a console is pick up and play. They are content with knowing what they have is a visual upgrade completely from last gen. No PC necessary.

Owning both, the X1 UI is a mess compared to the simplicity of the PS4 UI. Menus within menus, text scrolling offscreen etc and general sluggishness. You can tell one was designed with voice in mind. Also the media app is junk, MS should have waited and made it much better before releasing it as it is now.

I like both UI for different strengths.

I generally don't find one better than the other. It's really comes down to individual strength.

For example, iOS is simple and easy to use

Android is easy to use, and customizable.

They both aren't better than on another, as they both have some of the same basic functionality.

I think the Xbox UI and the PS4 UI is exactly the same. How you are using one is the difference. They both navigate the same, and have the same basic structures in place to get to point A and B. Now the Xbox has much more going on than the PS4 but I just feel they balance each other out. If it's a factor or aesthetics and looks, that's different which isn't (imo) the best way to measure if something is better.

Most people do not want or can afford expensive PC's, so they shouldn't be brought into the equation between PS4 & Xbox One.

That is just an easy way to completely disregard the glaring power differences between the two. You want a new-gen console, you have the choice of either PS4 or Xbox One. PS4 is more powerful - no interpretation is going to change that statement, it is fact.

Anyone looking for the most powerful console will logically choose PS4, not choose PC as they are looking for a console. Subjective factors like taste in games, exclusives, OS, online etc will draw people toward differing consoles, but if a person is looking for the most technologically advanced console, it is PS4.

The specs, price and sales speak for themselves, but I am particularly focused on "they made a better console", which isn't true. We know what specs the consoles have, we know which console is running multiplatform games to a higher quality. That's no open for interpretation or opinion.

A lot of people prefer the online experience, the controller and the interface of the Xbox One, so it gives to reason that they think it's a better machine. Just like the opposite is true for those who prefer the Dual Shock and user interface experience of the PS4. I tend to think these things are MORE important than the spec wars, as both of the consoles are seriously under powered compared to the technology available. So it is with consumer grade products, and that is fine.

I own both of them and feel the opposite of what you have described now. Sluggish / messy/ old and slow I would call the PS4 interface. It takes forever to even sync the god dam trophies, Slow with messages, Browser sucks. If you open to taps the browser shuts down telling me that there isn't much memory.

Recent activity is messy, feels like cheap coupons.

I guess each to their own taste.
And that's the best part of it.

I know this is a weird question, not that I'm champion anything but, say for instance, if the PS4 had all the same features as of now, would it come down to features as such, aesthetics looks between UI, or just games?

In Norway the PS4 costs about 3500 nok (a little under 600 usd). An equivalent PC would costs upwards 10 000 nok (about 1500 usd).
