Why are people talking about a console controller though? The image looks more like a handheld, and the leaker/faker never said anything about a console. It could be either or both, but the more logical conclusion is that it's a handheld.

If it were the handheld, and Nintendo's answer to mobile gaming, would people freak out any less?

I think people assume NX is a console in the traditional sense, which is probably a mistake.

While the design it's weird, it's a relatively traditional controller... It could have buttons like many post have explained (according to the patent)... so no reason to worry about that.
Ergonomics? people really think that Nintendo wouldn't consider that factor?

That is what I don't get.. people can't seem to go a little beyond the photo. They see it and go crazy with hyperbolic statements..


And most of all... it's probably fake.

Yea N64 and Wii U gamepad had garbage ergo nomics.

IF there was some sort of tech like that, by the way, i would guess it would replace the bottom screen of the nds/3ds. I see people worried about the screen not being ideal to show the game.. But it would be ideal to show just the interface obviously.

Rosti is extremely reliable, though they could always be kidding in this one instance.

i like what i see, it looks good and futuristic.
But :
1/ if nintendo goes for free form display it would be less expensive to have the sticks on the edge (with cutouts) instead of the middle. No thumbs hiding the screen, still allows contextual UI.
2/ Rumors are NX will be a home console first, and this controller would be way too much expensive to be bundled with a console at an affordable price.
3/ it's way too small to be comfy in adult hands, some have suggested it could be a devkit specific model or could have some detachable handles.
4/ i think NX should be able to play some mobile games and it needs a vertical screen to do so, this thing could work.

I can't make a choice, fake or not, it looks different and could bring something new to the table and that's what i expect and hope from nintendo.
