Oculus' Palmer Luckey funds white-supremacist/misogynistic/anti-lgbt harassment group

It Facebook doesn't drop him maybe they will be accused of defending a white-supremacist, and I'm sure they don't want that to be associated with their brand. So if they don't drop him they're making a bet that the story won't blow up further. It'll be interesting to see what they do and what happens.

To have more empathy for one group of criminals versus another? You don't think Nazis are worse than crack addicts?

This is disingenuous. The difference between a crack addict and a nazi is not the same as the difference between two murderers... or two sets of racists.

I dunno, it seems like the record is pretty freaking clear already.
Unless I'm mistaken we don't have confirmation that's he's the reddit guy aside from apparently himself telling the daily beast that he's that guy. I guess he'll challenge that narrative.

I can't imagine the daily beast would write this without proper evidence to back it up though.

Milo already confirmed it was him.

A truly inspirational man.

Well, that cements my decision to not buy an Oculus.

Thanks for saving me some money, Palmer.

in before "my comments were misinterpreted" or something BS

Yeah, his position is pretty clear but I assume he will find a way to butter it up, much like the hardware drm measures that happened with Rift that resulted in Palmer giving responses when it happened and after they did the u-turn with contradictions all over the place.

This analogy is not as clever as you think it is, mate

It's not supposed to be clever, it's supposed to accurately represent my position.

This is disingenuous. The difference between a crack addict and a nazi is not the same as the difference between two murderers... or two sets of racists.

Then forget the example. I'm not arguing that anyone should make the same distinction as me. I think it's worse they Luckey supports Trump as opposed to supporting trolls, as Luckey's initial statement indicated. I am much more disgusted by the former than the latter; though I am disgusted by both.

Ah OK. Missed that. Already punches a hole in him saying that it's a Clinton smear piece then.

No the cnet editor on twitter said Luckey will set the record straight on his Clinton smear reports, not that this is a Clinton smear campaign against Luckey or anything like that

Yeah....not all crack addicts are criminals. They suffer from a disease.

I meant to imply that the crack addiction was the reason behind commiting a violent crime, for which I have more empathy than commiting the same violent crime because the perpetrator hates the victim's race.

Edit:

To be completely clear, I find racism as a byproduct of irreverency less detestable than racism stemming from a philosophy of racial supremacy. Both are unacceptable; but I consider the latter significantly worse than the former. Luckey is clearly the latter, and now that this is confirmed, I am more disgusted by him than I was when he attempted to pass himself off as the former.

Facebook is gonna have people complain no matter what they do. Just look at what Mozilla had to go through. But they're likely not going to side with the alt-right.

There are two tweets there. The latest is that FB and Oculus will issue a statement, another one minute earlier about the Hillary smear campaign and Lucky clearing things up.
The former sounds like firing. I hope it's the former.
