Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Trailer Shown at PSX

Alright, I'm convinced. Looks like they did a fantastic - and most importantly, faithful - job of recreating these games. I couldn't be happier; can't wait to play the hell out of them.

No, just 2017, afaik.

My guess is summer. That would be the perfect time.

So I was bored and made my own "what should Crash look like in HD".

I also drew in toon outlines because why not?

And here's a comparison with how the current game looks.

What do you think?

At the risk of being that guy on the internet who boosts up the colours and contrast on a video to make it look how he thinks it should look, here's me doing that:

Fingers crossed the final product looks a bit brighter/bolder. The footage shown looks kinda drab in places, especially in some of the outdoor areas.

Going by these posts, I think it's the lack of color that seems to be the issue here. I'd love either of these two, though I think I prefer Jordan's. It could do without the toon lines around Crash though.

You guys should tweet this to someone at Sony or Activision.

You know the box count after completing a stage is gonna be irritating for speedrunners :V

They need to git gud.

In the original game, you could skip the Box Count screen by dying. The game checkpoints boxes now, so that skip is out. They may include an option. Who knows.

It'd be lovely if they took the chance to make the camera pan back a little bit when you're walking towards it. There were a lot of levels that required you to backtrack in the original releases, and they pretty much went against the game's intended design.

In the panel/interview thing on PS Livecast, the player backtracked a bit and the camera pulls back a bit further than it does in the original, and I feel like VV will tweak it. They mentioned they read social media and youtube and reddit etc on the panel/interview vigorously after reveals.

Formerly Momotaro
Can't wait to see Sunset Vista and Slippery Climb in glorious HD.

Stormy Ascent would be a sweet bonus if they find a way to include it.

That's gonna make Crash 1 too easy. Bleh.

Looking at most of the footage available, it has grew on me, it's just the tiny things in areas that could be improved. The UI stuff and font that's already been mentioned, some of Crash's animations, and for me, the music and SFX.

Mainly the music because there seems to be a MAJOR LACK OF COMMUNICATION between whoever's doing the new versions and the original composer (who has said he'd be happy to work on these games and STILL has the original masters for the music he made). The one problem is that these remixed tracks are just being based off the compressed console PlayStation mixes, which lacked certain effects and were shortened in some area, when the original composer has the full versions available still and has even posted some tracks online to show the difference!

For example, let's take Heavy Machinery, here's the big band loop part in the remake:
https://youtu.be/ddogMUuGndw?t=2m50s

Here's the PlayStation mix it's based off:
https://youtu.be/-lFwchGSkes

And yet, here's the original Master version:

You can hear extra layers to the track which really add to it and the sound quality is better for most instruments. So I'm just curious as to WHY they are ignoring to work with someone who actually worked on those games, and someone who actually wouldn't mind working on these games again. It's insane, he's got all the masters for the tracks and for the demo tracks and unused stuff just sitting their in his studio!

Yeah such a skip would be effective. Also make Coco playable like Crash in all 3 games~

Questions...

- This is all 3 original games right?

Also...

- With people's comments on the lightning and such, given this is a Remaster Plus+ don't you think there could be some color options in it that are unlockable? An example is the new Ratchet where you can unlock different screen filters where you could unlock thigns such as "1970s" and etc.

I can't way to play this.

If it turns out successful , we might see a real next gen Crash one day.

people can finally learn what a overrated franchise crash was 3d platformer where you basically run in a straight line and do hurdles.

Played the games earlier this year and I had more fun with them than most games that came out this year. That's me personally but those games were great for their time and can still hold up.

What's with people complaining about the colors not being vibrant enough? Change the settings on your TV then.

People say this all the time, but what does it actually mean? If people are happy this got announced and liked what they played at PSX. What does it matter? What you say means nothing if people enjoy their time with it lol.

I am in. Wonder if it will be just as hard as it was in the past. One of those rop bridge levels was a nightmare for me in the first game.

What's wrong with running in a straight line doing hurdles, again? That's what most 2D platformers are if you strip it down to the basics like that. Crash takes the design philosophies of a 2D platformer and flips the perspective. That's what Crash is, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I hope they add rendering filters and shaders like what we saw in Uncharted 4.
That would be the perfect solution so that everyone get the look they want.

The spin animation could use more work TBH. Looks primitive.

Yeah, the more I watch the trailer, the more this bugs me. There seems to be an overall slight sluggishness to game speed.

As you mentioned, there's the spin. But there's also his run, which looks like a light jog at best. Really jarring in scenes where he's supposed to be running for his life from a boulder.

Also small UI things I noticed, like how Wumpa Fruits slowly glide up to the top of the screen when you collect them. Or Crash has to stand in a crowd of Wumpa fruits for what seems like a full second before they register as "collected." All of these should be much, much faster.

From reddit, Remastered is crash 2 model in HD. I'm in love. Who knew it would take this long to finally get his design right.

That's beautiful to hear, I loved that track in the original. I hope they take him up on it and use those original masters.
