Loving how it looks. Do we have a date?
Ahh! Thanks. Hopefully not too long. No, just 2017, afaik.
If CTR got a remake I wouldn't mind if the visuals looked as shit as this since the benefits of 60fps and online play would outweigh that.Don't start talking about Crash Team Racing. A remake of that would make me piss my pants in excitement.

So I was bored and made my own "what should Crash look like in HD".
I also drew in toon outlines because why not?
And here's a comparison with how the current game looks.
What do you think?
At the risk of being that guy on the internet who boosts up the colours and contrast on a video to make it look how he thinks it should look, here's me doing that:
Fingers crossed the final product looks a bit brighter/bolder. The footage shown looks kinda drab in places, especially in some of the outdoor areas.
You know the box count after completing a stage is gonna be irritating for speedrunners :V
They need to git gud.
It'd be lovely if they took the chance to make the camera pan back a little bit when you're walking towards it. There were a lot of levels that required you to backtrack in the original releases, and they pretty much went against the game's intended design.
That's gonna make Crash 1 too easy. Bleh.In the original game, you could skip the Box Count screen by dying. The game checkpoints boxes now, so that skip is out. They may include an option. Who knows.
In the panel/interview thing on PS Livecast, the player backtracked a bit and the camera pulls back a bit further than it does in the original, and I feel like VV will tweak it. They mentioned they read social media and youtube and reddit etc on the panel/interview vigorously after reveals.

Can I get a source on this, because a claim like that shouldn't be circling around without one.
Well, E3 Press Conference is one, PSX is another. Sony and Activision never said it will be exclusive to Playstation 4 so we can asume it's not.
- This is all 3 original games right?
people can finally learn what a overrated franchise crash was 3d platformer where you basically run in a straight line and do hurdles.

The spin animation could use more work TBH. Looks primitive.
If anything, the spin should be a smear. Like this:

Hey, look.
It's yet ANOTHER one of these posts.
Yeah. Another one.

What's wrong with running in a straight line doing hurdles, again? That's what most 2D platformers are if you strip it down to the basics like that. Crash takes the design philosophies of a 2D platformer and flips the perspective. That's what Crash is, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.people can finally learn what a overrated franchise crash was 3d platformer where you basically run in a straight line and do hurdles.

What do you think?
My guess is summer. That would be the perfect time.
Going by these posts, I think it's the lack of color that seems to be the issue here. I'd love either of these two, though I think I prefer Jordan's. It could do without the toon lines around Crash though.
You guys should tweet this to someone at Sony or Activision.

Looking at most of the footage available, it has grew on me, it's just the tiny things in areas that could be improved. The UI stuff and font that's already been mentioned, some of Crash's animations, and for me, the music and SFX.
Mainly the music because there seems to be a MAJOR LACK OF COMMUNICATION between whoever's doing the new versions and the original composer (who has said he'd be happy to work on these games and STILL has the original masters for the music he made). The one problem is that these remixed tracks are just being based off the compressed console PlayStation mixes, which lacked certain effects and were shortened in some area, when the original composer has the full versions available still and has even posted some tracks online to show the difference!
For example, let's take Heavy Machinery, here's the big band loop part in the remake:

Here's the PlayStation mix it's based off:
https://youtu.be/-lFwchGSkes
And yet, here's the original Master version:

You can hear extra layers to the track which really add to it and the sound quality is better for most instruments. So I'm just curious as to WHY they are ignoring to work with someone who actually worked on those games, and someone who actually wouldn't mind working on these games again. It's insane, he's got all the masters for the tracks and for the demo tracks and unused stuff just sitting their in his studio!
