Yup, Trump has a lot in common with all the modern authoritarian figures in Latin America. I've been comparing him a lot to Cristina Kirchner (Argentina) lately due to the similarities, but Chavez works too.

Unfortunately Sweden has along with Germany become someting of a hate object of the white supremacist movement.
We have a shockingly large portion of the population who agree that crime is rampant and the government ad media are covering it up.

It's rather terrifying being a minority atm :(

Trump is clearly a looney tune, but I've been reading about Swedish problems with integration of immigrants for years now.

Some of the problems seem to be pretty substantial. The government has been denying it regardless no matter what evidence is presented.

A quick Google suggests plenty of smoke even if the fire is obscured from view.

People who claim "This is the greatest country on Earth!" are always the first to rush out and scream "Oh my god this country fucking sucks!"

My hope is that they hit their peak, and now with Trump as an example of what happens when you let right wing extremism take over, they are gonna fade out quickly.

Horseshoe theory. They only differ in shades. Trump has far more in common with Chavez than say Sanders "the American Socialist" does.

I'm by no means an authority on Trump's Twitter account, but I noticed during the campaign/election almost all the replies were positive. After not so much.

I'm wondering if most of the positive replies were just Russian (or other) fake accounts?

Twitter has also been working on removing/hiding low-quality tweets so this could be a part of it.

They hate us because we take in immigrants, so they make up lies to dissuade others from following our lead.

I'm not always proud of my country, but I'm proud of us (and Germany) doing what's right even if it's not the easiest way.

Most of the comments I see are talking about how Trump obviously meant the rape problem going on in Sweden...

Leading me to believe the only exposure most of these people have to Sweden is The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

They thought they were talking about criminality in certain areas, but the filmmaker edited so it looks like it's about immigrants and migration. They are saying that the questions they were answering are not the ones in the documentary.

Now watch trump either ignore this when pointed out to him, or double down with the "fake news" no matter how much evidence there is
