Disclaimer: I'm no Christian, and I'm not religious.
The bible is a great source for ancient history though, and sometimes the only source we have. I have no doubt a lot of things have been exaggerated in their accounts of history (such as the parting of the Red Sea), but when those fanciful events are all built around real history... can you honestly say that doesn't fit the Assassin's Creed mantra?
Fun fact: The original bible has a lot of great info about ancient Babylon, specifically a king that was referred to as "the Morning Star" (in the same way Louis XIVth of France was called the Sun King). Lots of info about his kingdom in there, built around a story about how he had fallen from grace as a king. Translating "morning star" into Latin led to "lucifer", a common term for the star Venus that rose at dawn, which was then ignored in later translations from Latin into the English bible, presumably because no-one knew what "lucifer" translated as so just left it in there as-is. Fast forward to today and we have a story about a fallen angel called Lucifer instead of a fallen king of Babylon called the "morning star". Translations of translations of translations will do that I suppose!
