Hi all,
Lee from Codemasters here, finally got my account activated so I'm able to chip in.
Sorry for teasing you all like that back at the start of the year, I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it.
I've asked this question quite a lot over the last year in various places but not been able to ask you. So here it goes...
What 5 things are most important for you when it comes to the next DiRT?

1. Realistic special stages. Why would Finnish dirt roads be as wide as highways? What 5 things are most important for you when it comes to the next DiRT?
Autosport is heavily based upon content from previous games in the series, I think Dirt 4 is going to be Codemasters' showpiece for the new consoles.Grid autosport

All of you requesting a rally only game are just setting yourselves up for dissapointment. There aren't enough pure rally fans to support such a game. They've got to make it more broad than that.
1) I loved that in Sega Rally (Revo) you could "feel" the track and that it was deformed e.g. when you were driving through mud. It was really neat and such a feature could improve the Dirt series. What 5 things are most important for you when it comes to the next DiRT?
Yes, I agree. This is a better way of expressing my point above.
1. No more poorly acted, pseudo-edgy, non-stop positive reinforcement from annoying "team members" that noone cares about.Hi all,

This tooA mode where you can ride a unicorn and make it drift
It'd honestly be a minor annoyance if it didn't feel so sleazy. The offline mode even displays that stuff correctly.Ugh I forgot about point 3... it was genuinely saddening seeing Codemasters stoop to that level. I agree with these other points too. I love the physics and handling model in DiRT 2/3. Hopefully DiRT 4 stays consistent in this regard.

Some good stuff so far guys glad to see that many of you feel the same way we do and echo what we hear on our own forums/steam/reddit.
Something a few of you mentioned that doesn't crop up too much is the sound. The guys in our audio dept will be happy about that.
Not to blow smoke up our own ass but even before I started working at Codies I always felt like the audio (especially in the 360/PS3 gen) was up there with the best and they are working hard with the guys at Shure and a university (I forget which) on some new recording tech that is going to benefit all our games.
As for the drifting unicorn, I'll mention it to the team

1. Pure and proper rally - I don't want X-Games, Travis Pastrana or Ken Bloody Block. I want proper rally with long proper rally courses. Think Colin McRae Rally 2. I'd love some Group B rally in their too.
2. Professional, clean and minimalistic menus. I don't need two arseholes on the main menu 'HEY AL HOW ARE YOU DOING TODAY! YOU CAN UPLOAD TO YOUTUBE!' It makes me want to fuckin strangle them.
3. Cockpit cam - I know you guys learned your lesson for Grid Autosport but I'm just reiterating the point
4. More realistic handling. To be fair I thought the handling in Dirt 2 and 3 was pretty damn good so I guess that's not as high up the list. I don't really expect you to go full Richard Burns Rally.
5. This is just a personal thing. I'd love to see Nicky Grist do a co-driver voice again, always loved that in the older games
- support for current gen consoles (PS4, Xbox One, Wii U)
Playing a racing game at 30fps
If there's a Wii U version, then they might as well do PS3/X360 versions. Personally I don't really mind the old gen versions, Codemasters games look good enough on PC as it is. I don't need better visuals at this point and it would be relatively easy to get 60fps on PS4/Xbone.

I really enjoyed Dirt 3. Specifically the racing & rally events. I just wish there were more rally stages and the few the game had weren't built the way they were ie. using same sections on every stage. The game felt like it lacked content and it soon became apparent why that was, the dreaded DLC. On that note, how goes the process with removing GFWL from Dirt 3 and releasing the full package (including DLC) on Steam?
I've been playing it on PC since Dirt 1 so it's hard to imagine it at anything but 60fps. Makes it so much smoother.I take it you're new to the franchise?
